that MBV gig night was one of the best nights out i've had in a long time. just a surreal drunken mess. paced my drinking perfectly too, which makes a big difference.

MBV at the Barrowland is a contender for the best gig I've ever seen. Such a great night. I really doubt I'll ever hear as anything as heavy as Feed Me With Your Kiss again.
The JAMC gig at Brixton was great as well. It was an eye-opener in many ways. I realised there was actually a man behind the Mahoney myth, and that The Horrors are actually a quality band. And Evan Dando really is as big a waster as people say he is.

The National Bowie Blur Neil Young Radiohead Franz Ferdinand Pulp Iggy Pop Arctic Monkeys (turned down 2 chances to see them in TINY venues in '06 ) Wtf am I on about, of course I'm seen t'Arctic Monkeys at the Corn Exchange. Funnily enough their set wasn't that memorable. Also, forgot the Flaming Lips didn't I. Definitely haven't seen them live tbh.

I've managed to cross off most of my must-sees in the last few years, so now I'm starting to reach a bit.
1. Jarvis/Pulp (might be getting on a plane next year, it appears) 2. The Libertines 3. Neil Young WITH Crazy Horse. seen neil a few times, but I want the ragged glory of the Horse, man. (It sounds better if you read that like a washed-out 60s hippy is saying it.) 4. AC/DC (they played ottawa last year and I didn't go for some stupid reason.) 5. Tom Petty 6. Rage against the machine 7. The La's, assuming Mavers ever gets his act together 8. The Coral 9. The Charlatans (was supposed to see them in 08, cancelled because of drummer shoulder surgery. Was supposed to see them in september, cancelled because of drummer brain surgery. Get another drummer, FFS.) 10 out of 10 beady eyes all neet.

We had Babu there for that i remember talking to babu on the phone when i was making my way there, he was so hyperactive. and then when i got to the pub, all i could hear him screaming was "MADFERITTTTTTTTTTT" in a weirdly high-pitched voice every time a photo was being taken

oh gawd, i forgot the flaming lips and neil young. the former especially would be right at the top of my list, jostling for space with the libertines. dont bother. catched them from afar and all they did was to throw out a giant rubber ball into the crowd.
