This week I've beated two excellent games. Really, if you have one of these two systems, don't miss these games because they are some of the best I've recently played:
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (Nintendo DS) This is an incredibly clever game with an awesome plot and it is unlike anything I've played before. I'm not gonna spoil anything but I must note that the mechanics of the puzzles are brilliant: you watch a chain of events that leads to some people's death, then you rewind the time to 4 minutes before and "tamper" with the chian of events to avoid the death. It's from the same author who made the Phoenix Wright saga, so expect the same levels of brains involved, the same levels of intricate storyline and overall the same level of awesomeness.
Metroid: Other M (Nintendo Wii) Never been a fan of the Metroid serie because my devotion for Sega didn't allow me to own any Nintendo system before, but now that I have a Wii I had to try a Metroid! Although I hate sci-fi stuff, I enjoyed this game a lot: it's fast and smooth, doesn't take too much brain to get thru, the difficulty level is well balanced (although we're more on the "easy" side) and it's very fun to play. It's one of those games that you can play for 3 hours straight without noticing the time that passes...you just want to go ahead and see what happens next! Also, I loved the plot, as it deals with 'youthful oppositionism' and the thin line between rage and craziness, which are rather complex psychological dynamics to put in a videogame without sounding annyoing. Great!

The thin line between rage, craziness and reason (if i might add that). Otherwise i'd love to play that too! I dont have a wii (yet)!
I played and loved Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime Echoes on GCN. Echoes was really hard, i didnt even beat the final boss by now. The bosses inbetween will give you a hard enough time. Still, you keep playing and trying because the game simply rocks. ♥

The only letdown with this Metroid I played (and with modern games in general) is actually the difficulty level. Took me only 8 hours to beat the game, and the difficult part was finding the correct conduits/doors/path. The boss fights weren't hard at all, you could figure out the right strategy after a couple of tries. After I've beaten the final-final-boss, it said I completed 50% of the game...it means that the other 50% will constist of just finding items I left behind the first time around, which is kinda cheap...I wanted the game to be long and hard because of the enemies and the stages, not because of the hidden items.
I see a lot of people doing reviews on youtube nowdays complaining when games are hard, but I mean, a game is supposed to take some effort right? As long as most people can beat a game without getting stuck for weeks and going crazy, it's not hard. Guess it's a reflection of the current market.

got this today, gonna play through it when i go on holiday at the end of the month. well excited
I finally completed it roughly 20 years after I bought it Probably the greatest moment of my life until I saw the ending which was basically a bunch of Japanese names scrolling down the screen I'd never got to the final Dr. Wily before, who would of thought he'd of turned into an Alien that is invincible to everything other than bubbles.
Downloaded torrents off piratebay which have pretty much every NES & Mega-drive game ever & picked up a PC pad which is a replica of the PS3 pad so gonna be posting in this thread time to time hopefully
Good work on beating Mega Man 2, Karl. Here's a quick overview of the latest games I've completed:
Conduit 2 (Nintendo Wii) Not a fan of FPS, but I (sort of) liked the first Conduit so I decided to give a go to the sequel aswell. Considering it is on the Wii, it is a good title. It doesn't stand a chance against the "world class multimillionaire production first person shooters" that you can find on PS3 or 360, but it's still nice and at some point it can get even really good. Most of its charm is in the fact that it doesn't look that serious, heavy or gay as modern day big FPS but it's more as a "b-movie" game (a b-game I mean!). I liked it.
Jump Ultimate Stars (Nintendo DS) This is surprisingly addictive. It's the concept of the "Smash Bros." serie (so a really unique fighting game) but with Japanese Comic Book characters instead of Nintendo's. I'm not a fan of Mangas or what, but the characters are very weird and charming and there's literally a hundred of them and you can combine them to create your perfect team. It's great because it's not strictly about knocking your opponents off (ala Street Fighter), but there's various tasks that you have to complete in order to beat the levels: sometimes you have to crash your opponents, other times you have to ignore them and just collect random stuff scattered all over the level etc. There's a counter that tells you how many hours you have played: mine is reaching the 30th hour, which is unbelievable for a game with such a slim premise. Sad bastard that I am. This game is awesome.
Got 'LA Noire' and played through the first disc, getting a bit bored now ... only another 2 disc's to go.
Anyway mate in work has lent me 'Fallout 3' which i've never played. Just arrived in Megaton, can't run now because i've been stealing so much stuff i've about 9 coffee mugs for fuck sake.
Bought Smackdown vs Raw 2010 for £4.50 on Saturday. Did the 'Brand Warfare' Road To Wrestlemania thingy with John Cena which was entertaining for a few hours and have started a Randy Orton one.
I've not created a wrestler yet or touched the storyline creator thing but I will. I'm going to do a career with Chavo Guerrero and win the WWE title with him.
I also got Halo ODST for £4.50. Not really played Halo since the original one on Xbox but have been told Halo 3, ODST & Reach are incredible so had to nab ODST when I saw it.
Bought a copy of 'Fallout 3' for myself as I'm enjoying it so much, picked up 'New Vegas' as well as it was only £15. Can't wait to get home and stuck back in to 'Fallout 3'.
