New Black Mirror episodes that I've watched so far: Nosedive 8/10 Playtest 7/10 Shut Up and Dance 9/10 San Junipero 10/10 Mostly go with that, although I'd bump Nosedive up a point (absolutely loved the creative design in this ep, especially) and Playtest down a point (because it all felt a bit rudderless and bleak). San Junipero was magical television. Plus the ending really called out to what we wanted to believe. upon further watches and reading, it's ambiguous as fuck, but done in a really skillful, non-arsey way.

The 13th.
Oscar nominated Netflix doc about the US prison system and modern day slavery.
Absolutely essential viewing. And it's every bit as horrific as it is essential.
It's way way beyond conspiratorial. It's systematic and terrifying. A young black man in the states is as persecuted as any other race, gender, religion on earth. Just more stealthily.

The presentation is ridiculous but it's surprisingly historically accurate (down to the people consulting on it i guess).

yeah it's on point. nice to see such a huge budget being used so ostentatiously but also so effectively and imaginatively. loved it.

3 episodes into season 1 of Sense 8. Hooked.
Smart, slick telly. The trailer doesn't do it justice.

I'm rewatching 'Suits' well I say I am, my wife is so it's on in the background while I sit on the MacBook and play Football Manager 2012 (playing it until my favourite re-gen ever retires as a player and then I can make him my assistant).
I remember liking it when it was first on, but since then I've watched The Good Wife and The Good Fight, and while both of those series focused more on the cases and in The Good Fights case passes commentary on real life issues, Suits is simply a vechile to show off how cool Harvey Specter is, and the truth is he's actually a bit of a cunt.

gonna bump this up for "cobra kai" as I've finished the 10 episodes and its possibly my favourite series of all time. if you remember the origional karate kid it's essential viewing. no spoilers but brief plot synopsis....
catching up with original karate kid rivals johnny Lawrence and daniel Larusso 34 years on. johnny is struggling with life and daniel - on the face of it - lives the perfect life as a succesful car dealership owner selling luxury cars. johnny sees a kid getting bullied and uses his karate kills to defend him and then a chance meeting with Daniel son makes him decide to reopen the infamous cobra kai dojo.
this programme is so so good......johnny is now an anti hero on par with gene hunt. captures the feel of that first film perfectly. all the original cast - even down to Daniel's mum - have returned to their parts. uses the old locations. flashback scenes to the origional film. easter eggs galore for old fans. the attention to detail in recreating bits is incredible.
