Really like it myself, already the best since the debut for me. Dig more the album as a whole and the vibe of it than any track particularly, but the two first ones and Reckless Serenate (absolutely loved it the placing of it on the album) are my favourites so long.

Suck It & See is tremendous, deffo agree with Baz on that track. Lyrically, it's very strong, too. There have been tons of moments where I've thought "That's brilliant".

Suck It & See and That's Where You're Wrong have a kind Stone Roses/early 90's vibe to them, I reckon.
Listened to it 3 times so far, it's really good. More instant than Humbug but definitely benefits from repeated listens.
I've got salute this band for not doing what Kings of Leon did. I'm sure they've could've went down the same road but instead have stayed true to themselves and churned out 4 great records.
Long live The Arctic Monkeys.

Any reviews yet? How have the lyrics been going down? They're fucking rubbish I know there's an art to that kind of gibberish but still rubbish ;D To think Alex's lyrics were once used to mock Noel's and now he's doing the Noel thing of lyrics that sounds good to sing along to but make absolutely no sense but a lot worse obviously. Still like the album though despite it

Love the lyrics myself. Some of the one liners are throwaway yet entertaining & create at the same time.
Ip, Dip, Dog, Shit, Rock and Roll!

Long live The Arctic Monkeys. second coming was a big influence on the record. I'd like you to provide a reference from where you heard that. It's ok as a record, it's not terrible but it's definitely their worst to date for me. It just doesn't stand up to the previous three. They turned their back on the whole kitchen sink drama thing a long time ago, which was fine with me, but there's nothing on this LP that's a patch on either Crying Lightning or Cornerstone, which were the real highlights of their new sound. There's a few amusing lines on certain songs, but most of the lyrics are just plain bad. The sort of thing Noel G would have been ridiculed for. Which is a real shame, given how talented Alex Turner is. Worst of all for me is how lumpen and boring the band sound. There's no grooves, they sound on autopilot for the whole thing. The riff for 'Don't Sit Down' is a re-hashed metal riff that 16 year olds who want to play Mettallic learn. Matt Helders is fantastic drummer, but he gets no opportunity to show it here. I loved Humbug, maybe I was in the minority, but Suck It And See is a step back in my eyes.

A: When we get together, we gravitate to listening to the Stooges’ “Raw Power” or Stone Roses or Black Sabbath — heavier kind of rock, driving around [music]. www.nytimes.com/2011/05/15/arts/music/alex-turner-on-arctic-monkeys-suck-it-and-see.html?scp=1&sq=alex%20turner&st=cse

Best since the 2nd for me. And i'm really a fan of the 1st or 3rd. Same for me. I still prefer Nightmare over it, but its a perfect compliment to their catalog.
