Haven`t heard any of the new album itself yet, but they played library pictures, brick by brick, don`t sit down, hellcat spangled shalala and suck it and see last night. Liked them all.

I think it's a solid album without a lot of standouts. The only standout for me (the one I rated higher than 4 stars on my iTunes) is Hellcat. Everything else (bar Brick by Brick) is solid but not amazing.
Not surprisingly, I think Hellcat should be the next single.

Haven't been paying attention to the setlists all that much, but Alex said they had never done 'suck it and see' before they played it on sunday night in montreal. Is that true?

I think he's had you on SRK. Probably got a chuckle out of mocking feeble Cananananadians.

Suck It & See and That's Where You're Wrong have a kind Stone Roses/early 90's vibe to them, I reckon. Listened to it 3 times so far, it's really good. More instant than Humbug but definitely benefits from repeated listens. I've got salute this band for not doing what Kings of Leon did. I'm sure they've could've went down the same road but instead have stayed true to themselves and churned out 4 great records. Long live The Arctic Monkeys. second coming was a big influence on the record. uhm yeah ok

I was brought up on Paul McCartney, who says the same thing at every show. So I don`t trust anyone.

Alex first performed Suck It and See acoustically live Saturday afternoon in Toronto acoustically for the 102.1 the Edge (but they band didn't play it that evening). The Montreal show was indeed the full band live debut.

he also did Love Is a Laserquest for the first and only time there.
was there and was slightly disappointing if i'm not dead honest. For me the album is certainly good, but probably their third best so far in my opinion.

Monkeys again tonight, preferred last week, but they were still great tonight. Outdoor gig. Very warm. Setlist was not markedly different, but I definitely have a new appreciation for Brick By Brick. Very good tune in a live setting, but its the one Im least enthusiastic about on the record. Gig was early too, was over by 1030.
The Vaccines opened and I barely paid attention to them. Frankly, they were not very good. It didnt help that the lead singer looked like a fruitcake and had on Meinby jeans. Whenever I see white jeans, I think of goddamn Meinby. I like a few songs on the record, but they seemed flat tonight.
