Looking for Eric (2009) Had always meant to go and see this at the cinema after seeing the trailer, but as usual I never got round to it. There was a lot more to it than I'd anticipated, really enjoyed it tbh. 8

Postmen & Cantona, could never fail you Rodders. La corta notte delle bambole di vetro [Short Night of Glass Dolls] [1971] have overdone it a bit lately with Giallo's but this was another good one. Story was told through a dead man who was still alive inside which was quite comical, Ringo Starr's wife gets murdered again in this one all good 7 [Rec 2] [2009] Continues where the first one ended. Had some nice ideas with you being able to see through the camera's in the helmets & the plot twist but it just felt like watching the same film again but with much less impact. Would probably work better watched back to back as together they probably on last 2 hours 40 or so. 6 Big Trouble In Little China [1986] First time I'd ever seen this, was such a blast. Felt like watching Carpenter's version of Kill Bill just not as good and on a much smaller budget. Flew by at 100mph and was great fun. I stuck on the commentary with Russell & Carpenter after to listen to a few minutes worth and watched the whole thing again 8

Gremlins 2: The New Batch [1990] I'd forgot how good this actually is. Is a pretty crazy follow up, really self aware, really funny & entertaining throughout. 8 Escape From New York [1981] One from my childhood which I didn't remember too much about. Stands up brilliantly, superb film & really stood the test of time. Great cast with Kurt Russell, Lee Van Cleef, Donald Pleasence & Isaac Hayes & really remarkable that it was made for only 5 million dollars. 9 The Human Centipede [2009] Curiosity finally got the better of me. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the two lead girls were useless but apart from that was pretty well put together but still just wasn't that interesting. Also, I expected to see them munching on shit & you see fuck all during the film, if you are gonna make a film with a concept as insane as a human centipede you have got to gross everybody out but showing some shit munching surely? I'd of preferred it to be really bad with tons of throwing up & over the top moments but it ended up being quite forgettable which considering the amount of people that have been talking about it is a real sin. 5

House of D Directed by David Duchovny so I figured it'd at least have some sex scenes in it, but was otherwise confronted with a yet another performance by Robin Williams playing a retard FFS. It's a film that asks the question: 'huhhhhh??' 4/10

Project Runway season 6 finale. I love this show but season 6 was seriously the worst one; there was no one interesting among the designers and none of them stood out for me; the one who won was a total bitch and her designs weren't even that impressive anyway. Also, it was set in LA this time, what the fuck's that about? What does LA know about fashion? I give this whole season about a 5/10 and the finale a 4.6/10

Stone [2010] 6 So the bad vibes from the trailer that one could sense were true then.. Too bad. I am starting to forget when it was the last time De Niro and Norton did anything good...

Mad Men - Season 4 (2010) The end of this season I am still thinking about but it isn't clicking just yet. Some episodes where 9s and some were 10s. But some fucking great television all around. I wonder if Megan's teeth are really like that. 9/10

watched a bit lately Death Wish II [1982] possibly even better than the original, same plot, same outcome. Bronson forever. 8 Die Screaming, Marianne [1971] average thriller with Susan George, she looked hot as hell, film was forgettable though 5 A Force Of One [1979] cheesey as hell Chuck Norris film, was shit I guess but I had fun with it 6 Above The Law [1988] pretty good cop/crime drama with Segal before he got fat, good cast with Pam Grier, Henry Silva & Sharon Stone. Could of done with a bit more punch 7 Babe [1995] was on tv watched first 5 mins then ended up watching the whole thing. I can't condone any film that makes me feel guilty afterwards about eating meat, fuck off morrissey. 5 Half Nelson [2006] was ok, was pretty tired when I watched this but felt like I was being preached to whilst watching. 6 City Of The Living Dead [1980] forgettable Italian zombie flick 5 Police Story [1985] some over the top daft comedy throughout but really entertaining & I love watching anything with that many stunts from those days as you know somebody had to actually take a risk when hanging off a bus by an umbrella. 7 Baise-Moi [2000] really surprised how much I loved this. Anything that has such controversy surrounding it usually puts me off but I thought this was a really fucking good film. 8.5 The Limey [1999] cockney going to L.A to get whoever killed his daughter, was decent but shit flashing editing and overall quite forgettable. 6 Dementia 13 [1963] Francis Ford Coppola's debut film, feels a lot older than 63, had a nice atmosphere to it but it really bored me, it only lasted 80 minutes but felt 3 times it's length. 4

Half Nelson [2006] was ok, was pretty tired when I watched this but felt like I was being preached to whilst watching. 6 this is exactly the problem i had with it (the preachy aspect, not the fact that i was tired). ryan gosling is pretty great in it though.

Machete - 9/10
Loved it. Overblown and ridiculous in parts but thats what made the film. Didn't take itself too seriously and set out to do it's job: Entertain. Did it deliver? Of-fucking-course.

^ hell yeah, & in answer to backstreets question De Niro is great in Machete, sure it's hardly gonna sit well next to the likes of taxi driver, mean streets and godfather II but it's a really damn fine performance nevertheless. I don't think he's ever 'bad', problem tends to be quite often new or 'in' directors get their first big budget and think fuck yeah lets get a Pacino or de niro in then they write a character too similar to the great roles they played when they were younger but with a 1000th of the depth to the point where they are playing almost characterture's of past roles but they manage to just about get away with it due to the fact they are such fine actors. Great actors when they get older often give some of their best performances with more minor parts, a big director who has fucking millions to spend isn't gonna get one of these 'greats' when he can get someone better looking & younger that will bring in the punters.
