it's be nice this year if people could actually include some text with their scores, such as mahoney does just above. always look forward to reading peoples opinions, even if it's only one line. just adding a film title and a score reminds me of why i hate threads such as 'rate the last album you listened to' or 'what are you listening to right now' you didn't pull on new years, miss? wat

#003 Adulthood [2008] I enjoyed the first one as it was a good reflection (albeit a sad one) of many area's in TCOTU , this one was ok. Suffered from the same faults the first one did especially the fact there is barely a likable character in the film. I could see where they was going with Sam's character trying to sort his life out but still haunted by his past but for anyone who's seen the original he's still the murderer who killed the most sympathetic character of Kidulthood. It wasn't too bad overall, soundtrack wasn't as good this time round & didn't seem as hard hitting. Was decent enough though 6 DANNY DYERS CAMEOOnly a couple of minutes for the D-man but what a few minutes. He gets a shag, shows off his wicked motor then gives it the big one to the main guy 'calm it blood' D-man 'Do we look like we come from the same blood' 10/10

Waxwork - 1988 It's about a guy who creates wax statues of famous horror movie villains and of course they end up coming to life and attacking a bunch of teens/college kids/whatever. It was over the top with kind of shit acting, but that just added to the charm. There's loads of gore in a few scenes which actually kind of surprised me. Plus the women are kind of fit in that 80's sort of way. I'll always have a place in my heart for horror movies like this. 6.5/10

Untraceable (2008) Diane Lane tracks down a killer who is live streaming murders online. The more people that visit the site the faster the victim meets their death. Bleh. Decent concept for the film but if you are gonna flirt with making a mystery film you have to give the audience actual clues. Not just half blurt out a shit story that doesn't make sense bit by bit. 4/10

peep show series 3 Spoilers coming up in this review!!
Why is Mark getting engaged to Sophie?? He's never gonna find happiness like that, is he? It's just a weak character development and not very realistic at all and kind of outside the plot development as well. I mean, in the first season he ended up going to therapy, hasn't he learnt nothing? And how on earth does Mark put up with Jezz and his antics? And Super Hans or whatever his name is? He's just not a very believable character.
I do like how Jezz tries to structure his life by getting back to Big- Suze. Also, a very nice effort by Super- Hans to quit the drugs. We'll see how that goes. Fingers crossed he'll make it. 9/10

#004 Any Which Way You Can [1980] On par with 'But Loose', suffers from the exact fucking problem being that it's at least half an hour too long. A light-hearted romp like this does not need to clock in at two hours. There were plenty of needless scenes (almost anything without Clint in) that could easily of been chopped. Was fun, just dragged a little. Mother Fratelli from the Goonies has a small part as well 6.25

#005 House Of Dracula [1945] Usually quite enjoy the old Universal horror's, they've a unique atmosphere & pacing about them which always sucks me in though this one felt like a wasted opportunity. A film with Dracula, The Wolfman & Frankenstein's monster yet none are used very well & neither of them barely cross paths throughout. Forgettable. 5

Has a lot of the old school horror actors in it, is actually funny, and is actually a quality horror movie. www.imdb.com/title/tt0040068/

Thanks for the heads up, I've heard many good things about that one, definitely on my to watch list. #006 Arington Road [1999] First half hour maybe 40 minutes I thought I was going to hate this. Seemed like one of those films trying to force political stances on you in a patronising way. As things went on it was clear that it was actually needed to enable to story to work. This was by far a perfect film, with a more accomplished director, without a plastic Jeff Bridges & a finale that wasn't as far fetched this could of been a great film. Still, it's very rare that I can hate a film for so long then by the end do a U-turn. Anyone seen this? 7

The Walking Dead - Season 1 (2010) The first and last installments in this 6 episode season are really something special. There are some lulls in between but overall the pacing is spot on. Performances are above average with the exception of Andrew Lincoln who was fucking awesome. I despise 2 of the characters and it doesn't help I hate the actors who portray them. Plenty of well placed gore. The amazing pilot sucked me in and the finale blew me away. 8/10

I'm gonna follow Karl's format this year in honor of the 500 Film Resolution: [004] 12 Monkeys:I'm a huge Terry Gilliam fan and I usually enjoy everything he does; needless to say Brad Pitt is great in this and Bruce Willis is kind of loveable as well (nice bum too). The ending is kind of predictable but all in all I wasn't too disappointed. 7.5/10 [005] All Good Things:I really like, no, I adore Ryan Gosling's performances because they're so...I don't know how to describe him, but he's an amazing actor and so versatile. I don't think he had much chemistry with Kirsten Dunst, but then again, I don't think anyone does. I don't know how I feel about this film, because I liked parts of it and hated others. Gosling all made up as an old guy standing next to an actual old guy kind of rendered the whole thing useless for me (I pay a lot of attention to the make-up effects). Anyway I give this film about a 5.8/10 [006] Full Metal Jacket:Must've been the 60th time I've seen this, never gets old, never gets dull. Amazing performances, funny, sad, scary...all things Kubrick. 9/10 [007] Garden State:Wow, my oh my, this film hasn't aged well. I was all over it at 20 years old, at almost 27 it seems forced, amateurish, cheesy and dull. Not bad for a first time writer/director I must say, but pairing it with other things I've seen recently this just doesn't cut it anymore. I guess that's what they call "growing up". 6.6/10
