See I know it's a satire, thats all anybody ever mentions about Starship Troopers as if it explains the whole film but for me it feels like he decided to make a satire & the studio decided they wanted a serious sci-fi action film. It swings from one to the other almost from one scene to another. Probably the reason why he did very little after this, probably been blacklisted. Either way it's a great big mess of a film. it's a satire

Deep blue sea - 3/10 Dire tbh. The only saving grace was the horrendously bad death scenes that made me laugh, but yeah, the underlying concept is probably good. I like the idea of a more intelligent shark, but the execution was poor, and the plot became laughably predictable. Also the cgi was shite I dunno why they used it so much. Stock footage of sharks swimming would've worked better for the most part. Dunno why you'd make a film like that tbh

It's not a very good satire, is it? Moz, did you jump three metre out of your chair/bed/sofa/floor/girlfriend's lap/dog house/ mum's bed when Samuel L. Jackson took care of matters?!?! Mad Men season 1. I love it. Can't wait for the second season to come out on dvd. It's about 1.41 hrs left for that. It really gets better with time, it seems. This show also tells me that I perhaps would like Sopranos. 9/10

[031] The Darjeeling LimitedThat scene with the motorcycle makes me . This film gets better every time I see it, for some reason, it's aged well and I suppose you have to have a certain frame of mind to understand it and enjoy it. It's not Wes Anderson's best by any means but it's still pretty good. 7.5/10 [032] RushmoreAhh, Bill Murray again, he's fantastic in this. His films might not always be 100% perfect (except Tenenbaums) but he knows how to capture certain scenes that are just . That scene with Murray jumping in the pool is just perfect in every way. I also particularly enjoy the soundtrack in this one, one of my favorites. 8/10 And not added to the Filmorama, Season 1 of Flight of the Conchords, 9/10 FFS. I want to marry Jemaine Clement.

The Darjeeling Limited has aged well? It's only 3 years old. Wanted to see it when it came out but then heard alot of poor reviews and didn't bother in the end.

Well yeah that might not have been the right way to put it, but I meant that before it seemed kind of a rushed project, but nowadays it feels different. I don't know, might just be my perception of it. [033] In the Name of the FatherIt's a really great film, very touching, you gotta love an unjust trial film with a good ending, no? Anyway it was hard for me to take this film too seriously when all throughout all I wanted to do was sit on Daniel Day-Lewis' face and run my fingers through his hair, FFS, talented actors should not be this sexy, does my head in. 8/10

Hey Ana, we have EXACTLY the same taste in men. A few years ago Daniel Day Lewis shot a movie here on PEI about 30 mins from where I live. My friend worked at the Inn he stayed at and everyone I talked to said he was absolutely lovely. So, talented, sexy AND not got his head stuck up his own arse. He was here for the whole summer and apparently still visits. It was a personal fight every day knowing he was that close and not going to stalk him.

That's cool. I never really thought of him as sexy until I saw that movie FFS. That bit where he's dressed like a pimp? NICE FFS I get the same with 70's De Niro, btw, which brings me to: [034] The Deer HunterI'm glad I live in a generation when De Niro is still alive. Of course now he's making those shitty Focker films, but all is forgiven for HIS BEARD IN THIS MOVIE. Jesus. loveafs indeed. Anyway, I loved this one, a bit long but it didn't drag, at least. Good performances all around; liked the bit when they go hunting and open up those cans of beers and it goes all over the place. Those little things in film always make it just that more realistic. 8.5/10 [035] The UntouchablesOMG if I see another movie with Kevin fucking Costner that isn't Field of Dreams I'm going to shoot my mother. What a shit actor, how is he even rated at all ffs? I didn't get why a Scottish/Irish/whateverish man would be a cop in Chicago? Never answered that for me, did they? Anyway De Niro outshines everyone here, as per usual, and that Battleship Potempkin-inspired scene was the best thing of the damn movie, you can really feel the tension the original is meant to give out, I thought that was a nicely performed homage. 7/10

I dont think Sean Connery was supposed to play an Scottish/Irish cop...he just cant do any other accent Like Hunt for Red October he's supposed to be a Russian Navy admiral and talks like he's standing in a pub in Leith. De Niro in the 2 movies you mentioned, just amazing how good an actor he is. I've only seen Deerhunter once. Great film but doubt i'll ever watch it again, it's just a bit too much

Have been meaning to watch Babel for years.. but I just never end up doing it. MegamindI really enjoyed it! Pleasantly surprised. It was very similar to Pixar's movies even though it didn't quite reach those heights. I want to have rough sex with Tina Fey. Even as a cartoon. 8.5/10

Interesting tactics Ana, I'd personally go for the devastation of landing all 8 in here at once to land the powerful punch to my opponents. I see you like to dish out a slow death instead.

[037] Get LowThis film caught my attention on IMDB yesterday because Bill Murray is in it. I'd never even heard of it until then, but I wasn't disappointed. As far as BM goes, well, he's great as usual, he has a way of delivering his lines that just get me for some reason. Robert Duvall was absolutely great in this, so tender and sweet, yet creepy and mysterious, which I guess is what the character was all about. I thought Lucas Black gave a good performance as well, I could really feel connected with him. I love the kind of humour in this film, it either flies over your head or hits you like a knife. I love that. 7.5/10
