Going by RYM - I've heard nearly 90odd records from this year. Decent going for a part-timer.
I should be working but the Excel spreadsheet is out and arranging has begun.
Task is to go back through most of them!

I love posts like this. David will never know what it means to have to decide between 47 & 48. I went through my RYM & I'll have a top 50 EASILY. Listened to nothing but 2011 records pretty much since October now. This year I can do a big list without having stuff in there I've barely listened to. Everything I've liked I've heard plenty of times. Even the stuff I didn't like mostly I've given a fair crack rather than hearing once or twice and moving onto the next thing. Does help having my job though. I get about 4 hours of listening every morning where I can try out stuff. Without that I doubt I'd spend so much time on new music, probably just listen to beady eye on repeat every night.

FUCK DAVID I basically have just gone through your RYM account and nicked anything you've rated highly It'll do mind! It'll do! My working from home days are powerful - 10-12 records easily. I love taking calls with Elephant Stone or something equally huge blaring out in the background

btw that J Mascis record is a real grower. It's one I've kept coming back to every few weeks and liked it a bit more each time.

It's BDI, innit. They'll be top of everyone's list. Goes without saying.

So excited for the 15th!!!!!
Also after 2 months of listening to nothing but 2011 releases I'm down to the last handful of records I've not properly listened to yet then I can begin work on my magnificent list & return to listening to old shit once again.

I'm exclusively listening to 2011 stuff at the moment. Which of course includes 2011 reisues, such as CAN, the Beach Boys and Phil Spector.
