Once you've spent 50 quid for the Good Will Out 20 anniversary show at Wembley Stadium you'll want to be falling asleep, passing out & being covered in piss. It's all part of the experience. You can't get that down the waterfront on a tuesday night!

haha it was during a 25 minute version of No Hidden Path, and we were sitting down and the chairs were gently rocking back and forth.

Mate I don't want to hear it. You give it the big one on here 'ohh I love Neil Young, Neil Young's so great, I'd let him bum me' then you fall asleep during his full on electric set. While you were out Neil looked down at our row C seats & shook his head in disapproval. You've probably delayed the next installment of the archives by another 20 years.

Possibly the greatest live act i've ever seen last night. He played for 3 hours 10 minutes but it seemed to go by in 3 minutes. Awesome awesome frontman and the E street bands guitar double act of Little Steven and Nils Lofgren were outstanding. He played Point Blank off The River aswell.

You need to get to Nebraska and share your thoughts after you've had some listens. So it's taken me over half a year since you posted this to finally get around to Nebraska but all I can say is what an album It took me a couple of listens of thinking 'this is alright' then it just clicked into place, it's unbelievable. Reminds me of Ryan Adams 29, but obviously miles better. I love how raw it sounds, the minimal approach really suits the batch of songs. I've heard it maybe six times now so it's still new to me but I can see this ending up a real favourite of mine. Certainly the best Springsteen album I've heard up to this point though I can't imagine me liking any of his others as much as this. I know he recorded them as demo's or whatnot then went into the studio with the E street band but decided he wanted to use the demo's he'd made but have the E street band versions ever surfaced? Also, does he do any of these tunes live usually?

Nebraska is my favourite by some distance. Superb record. Had one listen through Ghost of Tom Joad for the first time the other night and it has a similar vibe.
Aside from that still not bothered with almost anything after Tunnel of Love (shit).

I'm going to continue my quest & see how far I can get, I can't imagine myself getting through his entire back catalogue, it's bound to go down the shitter soon but we'll see.

Yeah, if you gave me nebraska, darkness on the edge of town and my choice of 10 other songs from the rest of his catalogue, I'd be perfectly happy.

Badlands alone is enough to change a life.
"I'm caught in a crossfire that I don't understand But there's one thing I know for sure I don't give a damn For the same old played out scenes I don't give a damn For just the in-betweens honey I want the heart I want the soul I want control right now talk about a dream Try to make it real you wake up in the night With a fear so real spend your life waiting For a moment that just don't come Well don't waste your time waiting"

Could've swore I saw this thread updated recently. I guess not.
Anyway, I decided I'm going to have a proper try of getting into Springsteen. I'm only really that familiar with the hits. I'll maybe post some thoughts here from time to time.

Stick to the first 7 albums then decide if you want to go any further.

The first two albums do absolutely nothing for me.
You can then make a really good playlist from the following albums
Born to run Darkness on the edge of town The river Nebraska Born in the USA Tunnel of love
Born to run and Nebraska are the only two albums that have clicked for me.
