After having a few weeks to digest I've come to the conclusion that it is their first really disappointing record. It's not terrible, but not very good either. Too many times things feel throwaway, shit lyrics, obvious hooks, it treads a fine line of self parody at times.
I understand the coldplay thing with Loose yourself, the anthemic guitar bit is straight of out something they'd do but I think it is still one of the better moments on the album. That, the title track and the returning, the rest I wouldn't mind if I never heard again.

Yep, I agree. But what title track?  The worst of all is real highlights are nearly nonexistent, I don't think I'd put any of those in a top25 of my favourite BRMC songs. |

The song on Dave Groul's sound city documentary is better than 90% of the record.

I am a bit reconciled with Specter. It's by far the worst album of their career and doesn't have huge highlights, but I'm fine with most of the tracks tbh.
