The Doors for me too, although I'm fairly sure that if i grew up and actually listened to them again instead of wearing My Opinion like a badge, I'd probably find a fair bit to like form them. Not just yet though!
And not really a band, but i don't really get along with conscious hip hop in general. I mean, I'm a pretty positive person, I adore hip hop and sunshine and messages'n'shit but after a song or 2 of conscious hip hop I just find myself craving dark, disgusting subject matter, grimey beatz and some talented reprobate pissing people off.

The White Stripes is a band that - in theory - I should love, pre-war classic american folk/blues tunes infused with electric guitars et al, but for some reason they do nothing for me, I mean nothing at all, like listening to a Nokia ringtone.
The Band is another group I feel I should rank among my favourites but again, beside a couple of obvious ones I just don't seem to get anything out of them. It's a shame because I admit their music is brilliant from all points of view, but no emotions so far. And Flaming Lips fall in the same category as well.

oh good call, I've tied a few times to get into the Band and I just find them really dull & lifeless. Will probably eat my words one day but still, I really don't get the fuss.

I enjoy The Band but I reckon they were a different beast live, probably like The Who or The Doors. There was a before and after I saw The Last Waltz tbh.
Flaming Lips is another good call, if it wasn't for the Yeah Yeah Song I'd totally hate them.

New Order is another one. A friend of mine tried to use them as an incentive to go to Coachella this year, since I said I'd really only be going for the roses and blur, to which I had to respond, I don't actually like them apart from 2-3 songs, and the inevitable Joy division songs in the encore.

Forever, you're nothing to me now. You're not a brother, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do. I don't want to see you at the hotels, I don't want you near my house. When you see our mother, I want to know a day in advance, so I won't be there. You understand?

Both arguably pale in comparison to the groovetastic sounds of the Style Council, but still nice music.

Speaking of Wellaaaah that Dragonfly EP he released on vinyl at the end of last year has finally leaked. It is basically dragonfly and 5 bonus tracks that didn't make the record.
