The first thing i tried was the singles album a few years ago and it left me a bit cold. I remember mentioning it to Kev (from here) and him saying to me that SFA were a band you'd be better off listening to whole albums by.
I think there's just a piece of my emotional make-up broken that is preventing me loving them. I can hear that it's proficient and probably interesting music but i just don't connect. I can't tell you how frustrating it is.
One day it'll probably just click and everything will be well with the world. Until then, I will remain a pariah and an embarrassment to my peers.

I'm not saying they're terrible, and they surely have some tunes and had an importance there and then but I find them way overrated and I hardly ever enjoy listening to them. Even Malkmus finds them overrated.

kings of leon -< ---- boring
the libertines ( hated them for years although im starting to like them a bit amazingly )
the white stripes or jack white- <---- the guy is clearly hugely talented but do not like there songs
paul weller solo stuff- <---- fucking dreadful
the rolling stones- <------- never understood the fuss about them tbh
oasis- after the year 2000 have been garbage if i am being honest ( still my fav band ever though for the early stuff )
