Hello my dutch prince, I wanted to ask you a question. Are you a fan of Paul Verhoeven? If so, are his early Dutch films worth checking out? I've only ever seen Total Recall & Robocop but I fucking love both of them & alot of that is down to Vernhoeven's style. Is his early work well known over there? I see he made about 10 Dutch films before making it big with Robocop.

He did mother fucking showgirls as well so fair play to him, the man is responsible for some of my greatest wanks in early life.

I'm not a big Paul Verhoeven fan or anything but from his early work Turks Fruit (think the movie is called Turkish Delight in English) and Soldaat van Oranje (which means Soldier of Orange) are considered classics in here, two of the most famous Dutch movies ever. Don't know any of the other movies before RoboCop though. Turks Fruit is based on a famous Dutch book and has a lot of tits in it and Soldaat van Oranje is a WWII film. Anyway, if you're interested in checking his early movies, I would start with these two

His latest movie Zwartboek (Black Book, from 2006 I think) was also a huge success in here (and about WWII). I prefer the German version of it though, where the Dutch resistance speaks German
