just got back from seeing jason lytle in norwich. was fucking good.
he was supporting midlake who im not fussed about and have seen live before anyway, but i managed to score a pair of tickets cheap from ebay was so was deffo gonna pop along for some jason lytle action.
was a real nice set, just him on an acoustic and a keyboard rattling through a load of grandaddy classics and a couple of tracks from his solo album.
wish it had been a headlining set but not to worry, still really fucking enjoyable.
9/10

black keys at brixton. 8/10, was pretty good show though I much prefered the parts as just a 2-piece rather than the extra members they've been using for parts of these gigs. Gig was messy, fights breaking out constantly thanks to a group of bellends deliberately knocking people about. Walkman supported, sound was typically shit for the support, everything turned up too loud so it sounds like a mess but I enjoyed their set despite not knowing much by them, They did the Rat so that was pretty powerful, always wanted to hear that live. 7

Ei they've supported the whole tour, no idea if they did near you but it was a pretty good lineup. Probably the reason black keys were doing 2 nights at brixton as well.
I need to get the new Walkman record, if anyone has any links that would be cool.

Thanks, will give it a go sometime soon, they are a band I've always felt I should spend time to look into and never did. Bows & Arrows I really hated when I got it just because nothing else sounded like the Rat, a few years later I got into it but then totally forgot about them.

Field Music Voo The House that Jack Built Mercury 13 another band that I missed.
£FREE
7/10 all bar mercury 13 are good bands (voo are fucking great, the liverpool band that no one ever mentions. I'm as guilty of that as anyone mind you) had to miss the end of field music and I did manage to upset them. only dissapointment was the crippling cost of beer in mojo (no draught, £3.50-80 for 33cl bottles mercifully one of those bottles is 6.4%) so rethinking how many gigs I'll be going to in there over the next fortnight. might try to catch some of candie payne on friday if the micah p hinson gig round the corner finishes in time

the walkmen @ st phillips church, manchester
the vaccines supported and were excellent, 8/10 the walkmen came on and played a pretty much perfect set. songs off the new album sounded amazing live, and the rat at the end tore it up. the acoustics of the church were fantastic too. i would go into more detail but i got absolutely hammered so, well, i can't. but let's give it something like a near 9/10. it was fucking brilliant.

Weller at the Apollo theatre in Harlem on saturday night. Good show, but we were up in the gods and couldn't really get into it from up there. Good setlist, though, and a blinding performance. 9/10
Weller at the nokia theatre in times square last night. Great show. Brutal bit in the middle where he played a bunch of slow new songs and almost lost the crowd. But then he played 'strange town' and got us back. Legendary. Great band, too. 10 out of 10 all neet.

Asobi Seksu, Oberhofer, Autolux Last night at Zero Film Fest. I didnt get there until our film screened, so I missed a bit, but Asobi was great and I LOVED the new material they played (their new single is available for DL). It was a pretty awesome night all around. Very intimate gathering, open bar, had a 45 minute conversation with two of the guys in Autolux and didnt even know it until I asked them what they did for a living and Yuki is still gorgeous and still sweet + she remembered me from the last show when I gushed over her 10/10 night 8/10 performances that I saw, which pretty much was only Asobi and Autolux.
