The Horrors @ the Warehouse Project, Saturday neet I've seen 'em four times now and this was the first time the sound was decent. I don't remember a lot of the gig, frankly, except remembering that a) there were a lot of nobs in the crowd and b) it was still bags of fun. I did also learn that I will never again touch poppers Met Stocky and Abs briefly, which is always pleasant. Still Life was a big moment, Sea Within A Sea was monumental. Wish I remembered more of the gig though. Somewhere between 7 and 8 out of 10 I did Poppers at V and it's just horrible when you're old, isn't it? Defintely a "drug" for the young and the gay. Your review of Horrors also applies to their gig at The Roundhouse last week. I didn't see Abs though

Horrors / Kills at Warehouse Project Manchester.
Kills 7.5/10 - Crackin'! Only just got into them since there latest album so a lot of the songs are still quite new to me but I really enjoyed it. Possibly not loud enough though.
Horrors 9/10 - Absolutely epic. Was a bit rough at the front, party I think because they came on at I think around 1am on a saturday neet so a lot of people were well gone when by the time they arrived. Not much to say about there set except that it was the usual mix of primary colours and skying (not one song from the first). Dive in, Changing the Rain and Sea Within a Sea were fucking unreal, not a bad moment there.

Bill Wells and Aidan Moffatt, kazimier liverpool, 8/10 these chaps are following up a superb album with a great live show,
INCIDENTALLY, this gig like many others lately, I'm chatting in the smoking area with some lads who went to college with axl's sister, preparing the motherload tbh. when its ready it'll give new meaning to axl's favourite word. "OWNED" silly ghazi.

went to see the nightingales supported by ted chippington tonight.
nightingales were decent, seem to be one of the lesser known postpunk bands from the 80s, sounding like a cross between the fall, the wedding present and half man half biscuit. ted chippington is so bad hes good and a major influence on my favourite comedian stewart lee.
7/10

went to see Hospitality at the Warehouse Project in Manchester on Saturday. A review is probably kind of useless for these kind of things, but the dubstep room was HUGE...the triple header of dark sky, starkey and pinch fucking tore it up. drum'n'bass main room was great but got a bit repetitive - however there were a lot of good vibes in there, unusual for a lot of DNB neets. highlight of the evening was Isa, who has been crippled by IBS for nearly 2 weeks now, none of the anti-spasmodic drugs or changes in diet/exercise had been working, it was at its worst on saturday, she did some MDMA, next day the pain had completely disappeared and it hasn't come back. my mate also put off the sniffer dogs by going on ahead of us, farting lots, he then got searched by the police after the dogs went crazy and we snuck in behind and got in fine. i am still in actual shock that worked / 10

Wu Lyf @ Shepherds Bush EmpireMy first attempt to travel to Shepherds Bush were met with a tube station closing. A man had fell/jumped under a train at Embankment. Was he a fan? Could he not contain himself? Had he read one of Brass Monkey’s posts? Was this a bad omen for the evening? The answer to all is probably no. We just changed stations got on a different line. The Central line for those who maybe interested in that kind of thing. If you haven't heard of Wu Lyf they have been getting a lot of press because they told the press to fuck off when the hype started and haven't really done interviews. A & R men were also charged 50 sheets for the demo before they were signed. This was done in a way which felt like they meant it rather than the way a certain evil midget does things these does with his evil corporate agenda. They recently played a 2000 capacity gig in a tunnel in Manchester and spent all the money on creating a statchue of their symbol which now adourns the stage. If Kasabian are 'far out' then Wu Lyf are outside looking back in at them and laughing. Cause they're shit. Wu Lyf were supported by a random DJ. The crowd were static throughout despite him playing a bass heavy remix of We Bros mid-way through which got a small portion of the balcony bouncing. By ‘small portion’ I mean me shouting ‘We Bros!’ very loudly and doing the truffle shuffle. The random DJ strangely received quite the reception and left fist pumping the air like he’d been smacking it. Old school hip hop then filled the room as I want to the bar. Beers were £4+. This is going to kill the live scene for new bands, isn’t it? How the fuck can kids be expected to pay that? Anyway, the lights lowered, the Wu Lyf’s symbol lit and the band strode on stage. They launched it into L Y F and what once was a crowd of statchues became a sprawling chaotic mess of 17 years fist pumping. As I looked down there I thought “I should be down there. Strutting, fist pumping, maybe even peacocking” but the truth is this is a much needed band for the kids. Just for them. Mid to late twenty something like em should be relegated to the balcony moaning about the beer prices. It would have ruined the aura, it would have upset the feng shui. The singer stage dived at one point and the crowd of silly kids surfed him away from the stage in a way that could only suggested he was one of them albeit considerably better looking. The band tore through their album plus a cover of some song with fire and grace. The mix of ‘baggy’ guitars and church organs created an excellent sound throughout. The vocals which once appeared shit but now I quite like were magnificently pulled off by the singer which is quite an achievement but then as stated he was very handsome. This was a very good evening. 'We Bros' is the feel good anthem of Autumn. 8/10. If they do not support The Stone Roses in the summer then the world is a cruel place.
