Scala is a cunt when it's packed. The way it's built makes it so hard to get down the stairs and down the front without knocking everybody out the way. You should of gone upstairs and watched it on the balcony.

Yuck @ The Leadmill last night
8/10
Top stuff, very enjoyable, band smashed through the album plus a couple of the extra tracks. Decent crowd also. Venue ran out of draught beer (1/10)
Support band - Fanzine sounded a little like the Cosmic Rough Riders to me.....

I'm surprising myself at how often I've been coming back to that Yuck album this year. might break into the TOP FIVE, perhaps not.

I tend to stick it on get half way through and think 'this is so much better than last time I played it' then it slowly goes downhill. Some great tunes on there though.

Go! They were great when I saw them the other week. Plus you get to perv at the bird for an hour.
I enjoyed them so much I was tempted to go Smashing Pumpkins to see them support until I saw the price.

A mate of mine was badgering me for ages about that Pumpkins tour - at 35 nicker for a Billy Corgan Ego Show (regardless of Ringo DeathStarr) is far too much.

I stuck 2 tickets into seetickets and went to the checkout and with fee's it would of been about 84 quid for TCOTU.
Despite him being a cunt, not being the pumpkins & me not actually liking any of their albums very much I've got a bunch of tracks of theirs I really love so if he was getting the hits out I'd of been all for it had it been 25 quid.
Too many bands are charging arena prices for medium sized venues now.
Next year I am definitely going to start going to smaller gigs again & hopefully see loads of new bands. Last few years I'm just seeing big acts with 20 year careers & paying 30 quid a pop. I miss the days of tiny gigs.
BRING BACK THE STANDS

I'd like to, but snowed under with work this week and next, if I go I'll have to knock back about £80 of work.

Proper annoying. yeah I can imagine. I swear they let tons more people in than they used to there. I see Kasabian there the day their debut came out and it was so easy to get a beer and go back down the front. They had the album artwork as a fucking enourmous flag hanging at the top of the Scala over the Scala banner it looked well good when I was walking to the venue.

The Twilight Sad / Adam Stafford @ the Bongo Club, last night. I've had the worst run of luck with gigs recently. There's been six shows in a row I've meant to go to that, for one reason or another, have fallen through. The Horrors cancelled, my guestlist for the Monkeys fell through, I failed by 5 minutes to get a ticket for the one-off Arab Strap reunion.. just some of my recent live music nightmare. So it was good to get back to a gig last night. Adam Stafford used to be in Y’all is Fantasy Island, who I never really had more than a passing interest in. He's now a solo artist, using one of those loop machines to do everything himself, a mixture of beat boxing, rap, guitar and backing vocals. It sounds shit, but he was actually incredibly good at. Some of his songs were amazing, and all the more incredible for the way he did them. 8. You can download some free stuff here: www.wisebloodindustries.com/bands/adam-stafford/The Twilight Sad were tremendous. They've finally grown into the 21st century industrial shoegazers they've always threatened to become. Opened with newie 'Kill It In The Morning', which was so powerful cunts were dropping their pints in shock when the guitars kicked in. New single 'Sick' is more of a slow burner, but they've got a great selection of songs to play with now. 'I Killed A Prostitute' has to be one of the most underrated singles of the past few years, it's immense. All in all, a great show. 8.

'I Became A Prostitute' is it nae chrissie? think your version might've been a freudian slip? Gutted I missed an Arab Strap one-off small venue reunion, never even kent aboot it, theyre the perfect band to just reunite for a single celebratory walkthrough some of their best tunes aswell, wouldve loved to have seen that. Seen them twice during their lifetime and they're easily my favourite band ever fae this country (sad to say that they're fae the same hole as that fucking wheel and that shite fitba team that always play a fucking 6 min dance version of ring of fire before games, so glad the cunts arenae spl these days).

I miss the days of tiny gigs. thats why you're one of the biggest wanker ever. and how can you miss 'the days of tiny gigs' ( ) when they've never gone away? thats probably what happens when you're an old soul and you've got a shit job. you stop have fun and go to see the 'big acts with 20 year careers' and you pay to get bored all fucking night long. you 're just wrong, mate. admit it ( well you just did).

how come its so important to you to a) try to demean other peoples jobs (sometimes for the mere fact of having a job) b) have strangers who think you are a bellend believe you have a great life.
why are these such constant themes of yours?
