I've decided it's shit, it takes out all the fun: the 1000 guitars, the wall of sound, Liam never ending vocals clashing with himself onto the next line, the POWER, the endless feel of the song.

Never looked that empty when ROBBIE WILLIAMS played there.

Video is cool. Song sounds shit. Knebworth was not their finest hour.

What was there finest hour gigwise? I'm plumping for earls court 95. For a more rough and ready vibe the new York wetlands (?) that's on YouTube is great too

Video is cool. Song sounds shit. Knebworth was not their finest hour. This is a correct opinion. My "finest hour" extends from the March dublin/cardiff type shows through Maine Road. Hard to top that.

If we're talking mid-90s Oasis then I'd say Earls Court or Maine Rd are the obvious ones, but I prefer the BHN tour TBH. Better set lists and the band are tighter. GMex or Den Bosch 97 still sound great.

Sounds fantastic as expected. Noel is just okay - it shows you how vital Liam was to the band. I'd argue one his top 5 vocals is Don't Go away.
Too bad we can't get Liam's first or 2nd take in the studio.
Anyway, goes without saying, Loving all all this re-issue/re-master of Be Here Now personally. It's when i was old enough to really appreciate oasis - 13 years old. I used to watch that D'you Know What I mean? Video on MTV India relgiously while on holiday in India eating gaylord vanilla ice cream. Beautifully re-done. Looks like it was made yesterday. Also, notice the style of the teenagers/20 years olds has changed too too much from 2016 - perhaps cos of the somewhat 90's rock revival. There isn't really a 90's rock revival - just in my little bubble cos I listen to DMA's biking town.
P.S. It's me DV - Dragon Voice aka - tailgunner aka Messiah for the animals. can't remember what other shit names I had.

Great to have you back dv! I'm a bit underwhelmed by these reworks and demos, not bad but just decent. Surely there's something actually unreleased they're holding back for whatever reason.

Too bad we can't get Liam's first or 2nd take in the studio. Will we ever get Liam's take on DLBIA? Probably not as let's be honest, it'd become as popular (but not necessarily bigger) than the original. It'll surface at the same time as Guigsy's take on Wonderwall tbh.

Vocals aside it doesn't sound much different.
I'm more looking forward to the film than these demos. Saturday night visit to the flicks to mark the occasion I reckon.

All this has reminded me just how great DYKWIM is, the new remix is okay, cos DYKWIM is such a massive tune, but obviously the original is better. remade video on the other hand Is pure POWER. fuck another thing I have to dig out is the B Sides from the BHN era. The hero's cover is tosh, and I remember flashbax being quality for the first few minutes. Noel described The Fame and My Sister Lover back in the day as "a couple of chords and a chord change" and that was something I always agreed with, but fuck knows I haven't listened to them in 5 years minimum! Street Fighting Man gets a pass mark for the use of "cunting" and cos LG howls it like a king.
BHN and HC would have been so much better with b sides put on the record though.
