Saw it again this afternoon. Stone sober, unlike last time as a friend hadnt seen it yet and we were bored. Good flick, nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable. I like the fact that the potions dude is the same guy from Drag Me To Hell I'd like to eat Ellen Page's pussy until she melted though.

Matrix is fuckin' good tbh, a modern classic. Reloaded and whatever-was-the-name-of-the-other-one were quite shit though.
Quite excited with this one, seeing it this weekend, everything Nolan has touched has been pure gold to me.

Reloaded was excellent imho.
The 3rd one was dogshit though.
I'd take Matrix 1 over Inception every day of the week tbh. Inception is still a very good film though.

aye, the matrix as a series got lost never to be found again up its own arse, but the first one taken on its own is an astonishingly good film. classic really considering its immense influence. 2nd & 3rd ones have their moments (the car chase sequence in reloaded in particular) but both are a total mess.

just got back from seeing this. i liked it but wouldnt say it was amazing.
i think its an easy film to overcomplicate but agree with andy in that i dont think it was particularly trying to be clever or overintellectualise itself though of course you will get plenty of cunts who will do exactly that

Larry Lamb's ballsack disagrees post of the month I really liked it too. Reminded me a little bit of The Matrix crossed with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I liked it, it pissed me off at the end that his totem wouldn't stop spinning, but all throughout the film I kept thinking there'd be a Lost-esque twist at the end, and I wasn't wrong. There were a few plotholes (like, how did he "insert" Mal from their special subconscious world? Did he have the equipment over there or something?) I agree with Andy when he says the other characters didn't need any development, but I was a bit confused (maybe cause I started watching it like 10 minutes in) about Cobb's relationship with Saito; I should probably watch the first 10 minutes for that.
Loved the FX, loved the score, loved Leo, loved Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page does walk like she had something (a dildo) up her bum, loved the zero gravity scenes and especially:
Joseph Gordon-Levitt's arse FTW!!

Yeah it does, but if this is a thread about a film you haven't seen, why click it?! To read peoples opinions maybe? You know, 'wow, most people seem to like this, I might check it out' kind of thing. Except don't moz, worst film I've seen at the cinema ever, no way better than Beethoven.

the third matrix film is genuinely the worst atrocity created. this also, in specific film threads, do we really need spoiler tags? u stayed out of this thread until I watched it. make an announcement moz perhaps. I agree with mahoney and andy. Goof points from mahoney, but as andy says, the story was really not that clever. it was just a story and I thought it wasnt much to read into tbh. an 8 for me, very entertaining and as andy spoke of, its pace was really good. matrix is awesome, reloaded has the momentum- scenes and its actions pacing in the car scenes.

I really liked how it made you concentrate from the start. It actually demanded something back from the audience for once. I really enjoyed it. The end was not necessary though. It was sort of like the Lex Shamalan situation, do a twist just because you feel you need to do it.
