New Kendrick is brilliant. Again. But different again to Good Kid and Pimp and that's a measure of the man.
I've said it before- but he's operating on a completely different level to anyone else in hip hop.
Even the track with U2 is brilliant.

Has no-one listened to the new Kendrick Lamar yet? It's another masterpiece.

I've listened to a fair bit over the weekend, it's excellent.

I'm a bit underwhelmed with it. First listen I didn't like it at all, but a couple of listens since its sounded a little better, but I'm still not blown away. I'm not overly keen on the production for most of it, it sounds like a Drake album in a lot of places and I'm really not a fan of that style of production.

There's a new Sundays & Cybele I didn't know about from this year. Track 2 off of it, Butterfly's Dream, is outstanding.

Really enjoying the new Black Angels. I've always really liked them but I wasn't overly keen on their last 2 albums.

Releasing more bsides than original song from an album that was quite mediocre per se is a great move. Has anybody cared with that load by Ryan Adams and is there anything worth?

Downloading them now. Bound to be some great songs on there so I can make the inevitable tracklist of my version of prisoner.

I think I liked it better on first listen than Prisoner but it's just too much Ryan for me in 2017

Yeah, I didn't like it that much at first but I think it's a nice ending to the record. A record I must confess I'm quite underwhelmed with, it's less songy and Albarn is just on the shadows. Think he was searching for a sound or a mood but there's a lack of strong tunes in my opinion and everything just seems rushed and not too memorable. Truth is I'm not a big fan of most of the collaborators' other work.

I heard it once and won't bother again, sounded embarrassingly shit.

I was the other way round. Was underwhelmed by the four pre-release tracks, but they slowly sunk in. Was worried about the the record but loved it on first listen.
I like the fact it feels new, i like the tempo, I think the tunes are there but just not as immediate and suspect it'll have more longevity.

I heard someone describe it as 'youthful' and that rings true to me. It has Danny Brown and Vince Staples on it FFS. I can't wait to give it more listens and see it done live.

I find it really embarrassing that Damon 'fast approaching 50' Albarn is still held up as some youthful musical innovator and consistently wanked over by supposedly serious newspapers. Particularly Gorillaz. OOOOH ITS AN ANIMATED BAND! Who gives a fuck? The man acts like a cunt and his output post-2000 is patchy at best.

The new Thurston Moore is surprising more with each listen.
Something I'm enjoying a lot if El Michaels Affair's "return to the 37th chamber". They've taken some of the best Wu-tang related tunes & used them to make a sort of funk record with a couple of numbers becoming full on soul numbers with Lee Fields on vocals.
