I quite like Creature Comfort.

They're turning into a Kasabian kind of band: each record gives you 3 or 4 fine songs for the live show. Pitchfork has been as harsh with this one as kind they were with Reflektor, when the truth is that one was insanely bloated and could have been improved trimming half of its length.

another new war of drugs song today and another cracker. got a feeling this is going to be an album of the year contender for me.
surprised there's been no comment on the new cribs tune hear. just heard it and loved it. im a massive fan of the production, got a real raw sound that is missing in a lot of guitar music nowadays. albini has done a good job.

Yeah I fucking love the new Cribs tune. The record they did with Albini last time around was my fav thing they've done so this should bode well. YORKSHIRE NIRVANA
Theirs a funny half hour doc about the band on Vevo that's worth a watch.

Sadly both sounded Cribs and WOD by numbers to me. Don't have high hopes on either record, they will probably be just fine though.

really enjoying the girl ray debut lp on first listen.
even though theyre english it really reminds me of welsh indie acts like gorkys, sfa and cate le bon.

I've seen them live few times now and i'm really glad the record has captured the almost 'amateurish' elements of their live show.

I'll give that a go.
The new black grape record is a hell of a lot better than it has any right to be. Really surprised how much I'm enjoying this.

I think my favourite record from this year wouldn't have earned a top 10 spot in 2016.

new horrors track released today is a bit of a banger. i'm not normally massive on synth pop but this is really good.
got quite excited earlier when i realised there's still so many big albums to come this year. off the top of my head i can think of...
liam gallagher noel gallagher the national war on drugs nadine shah lcd soundsystem bjork the horrors the cribs mogwai the pains of being pure at heart alvvays
plus the "lost" neil young album.
any of those have the potential to make my top 10 if on good form so still loads of good stuff to come.

New album from The Fall is surprisingly decent I think, given a lot of reviews panned it.

I wasn't keen, they need to sack off the guitarist. Too many generic rock riffs. Has its moments though

I was ready to embrace with a mild reaction the new war on drugs, as everything i've heard feels right but a bit fake. I loved Lost in the dream and all the advances seemed like more of that but with less feeling, a mechanized version. Then I've listened to Up All Night and it's exactly what I needed, pumped up again.
