Yeah, I only listened to it once but seems like Ryan didn't shake things too much. Which would be nice but didn't find the songs that great yet, we'll see.
Foxygen is like kev says too, a Brodway vibe and lots of piano. It's fine but like JP I love 21st century so it's still a tad deceiving they're not even trying to follow that path.

Managed to get my paws on Ryan Adams, sounding really good on first listen. Agree it's a lot like his last album; perhaps a little more reserved / contained.

Only had a listen whilst sorting dinner out but flaming lips was fucking boring. Regretting buying a Brixton ticket for next week already

yeah just listened to flaming lips and its a strange one. nothing on it is bad but it lacks any of their real joyous melodic moments but also lacks anything overly interesting or experimental so you're just left with a sort of middleground of nothingness. i don't expect them to make the soft bulletin over and over again, and fucking loved embryonic from a few years ago and even really enjoyed the terror but this is probably their worst "proper" album in quite some time. like i say, it's not bad by any means but by their high standards its a disappointment. it maybe could have worked if it was a bit shorter but an album of this sort of stuff feels like a bit of a slog at an hours length.

Really enjoying The Regrettes - Feel Your Feelngs Fool! They're a girl group doing vintage-sounding, garage-esque music that's full of hooks and melodies.

My favourite of the year so far is The xx one, I never really cared too much about them or Jamie, but it uses the strengths of both styles.
