I don't get the Britpop vibe from it. It's pretty moody and angsty. They sound like they're about to fall to pieces at any second but there's something about it that keeps drawing me back in.

Enjoying the new King Gizzard record, I read somewhere they are planning FIVE albums this year Meatbodies latest is pretty damn good, think the main guy's a member of TY & Cronin's band.

I can't be the only forum member who hopes this earnest pop fad soon dies a death.
Had a listen to that Cabbage album. There's a few great tracks - Tell me Lies About Manchester in particular - but they tend to outstay their welcome. They are a bit limited musically and their attitude only carries them so far.
It's surely time for FLESH to return and reclaim the title of the north-west's leading Britpop revivalists!

Not really feeling any of those (Cabbage, King Gizzard, Meatbodies) on first listen, not bad either but you know...

I've been listening to the new sun kil moon record for what feels like the past 7 hours & I've still got a few tracks to go. He's really starting to to sound more and more like a parody of himself. There's some good lyrical moments spread throughout, but he's just repeating the same themes he's explored from recent records whilst adding nothing worthwhile to them. A two fucking hour sun kil moon record is just too much, especially when he's clearly delivering half arsed writing for so much of it.
Still new Courtney's I'm excited about, they've taken so long for this follow up that I wasn't sure if they even excited anymore.

the frontman from ought has his solo album out today too. quite like the singles i've heard from it so far so should be worth a spin.

I had to let cult soapboxer JamesDCody down today by telling him I wasn't interested. Was going to suggest doing Ashcroft/Black Grape on a Saturday at Brixton until I saw the tickets were £50 + fees
