2019 albums

Been loving the new singles from Girl Band, new album out in a couple of weeks.

That is good. Really liked their first album.

Enjoying new Pixies.  I liked Head Carrier well enough but it felt a bit Pixies-lite.  This new one seems to have a bit more of an edge; it's a bit more sinister both in sound and lyrics.  The production still feels very clean like it was on Head Carrier but there was something about the production on that which made some of the tracks feel a bit lifeless.

I thought the new Pixies sounded completely gutless, probably time to just stick to nostalgia tours at this point. Also, I'd forgot Head Carrier existed, I rated it 7 on RYM and now I remember listening to it a bunch but couldn't tell you a song from it which I guess speaks volumes how I feel about their new material. I actually didn't mind a few songs from those 3 EPs when they came out but I think I'm done with them as a recording act now. Wouldn't pay to see them again unless it was a festival or for some reason they did a tiny venue. Oh well, their gig at Troxy I saw with Kim will always be one of my all-time favourites so I'm thankful for that.

To be honest this sounds like a better Pixies record in a way (vibe, darkness, sound) but Head Carrier had better songs, even if it was poppier and can't remember much of it. They can do whatever they want at this point, fans where too hard on then with the eps but I can understand the path they are taking

Honestly, I'm enjoying Pixies more with every listen. Flows really well and has a great vibe about it.

The two new Danny Brown singles released so far are pure FYRE.

Can’t wait for the album.

Did anyone know that Andy Bell released an electronic album under the name Glok this year? I seem to remember seeing a tweet about something he was doing but just heard a track now, sounds alright. Gonna have to check it out.
