Finally got around to the nick cave album. That's probably the best album I've ever heard that I literally never want to hear again.  Now I've had time to sit down & give it my full attention I'm really falling in love with it. Certainly isn't going to be one of my go-to Nick Cave records but damn, this is a great piece of work. WAITING FOR YOOOOOOOOUUUU. Nick's so good at using a somewhat bland & obvious line & making it something staggeringly beautiful. |

Yeah the Nick Cave album is another special piece of work. I do think it dips in quality slightly in the second half of lp1 but overall is pretty stunning.

It's kinda strange how the last 3 records have been some of the most uncommercial releases the bad seeds have made, yet he's now bigger than he's ever been. Imagine if he released Dig, Lazarus, Dig now, he'd be doing Knebworth. Strange how that wasn't the one that really caught peoples imaginations, it had such a big rock sound.
When I was at Billy Childish the other night the DJ blasted out Lazarus & it sounded fucking awesome. I do hope that they do the 3rd Grinderman record, I want rapey moustache cave back again.

I reckon that new Grinderman record will be sooner rather than later. They must be desperate to make a fucking racket again.
Get the feeling they might have saved all the noisier stuff for it knowing they wanted Ghosteen to be tranquil and serene.

Yeah I love these more sombre Nick Cave lps but the downside is the Bad Seeds are often criminally underused.
