Really liked it on first listen. Musically it grabbed me more than their previous stuff, can imagine this material working well with larger audiences.

I'll check it oot Titch.
I'm in love with the new Julia Jacklin record. At first I thought it was a bit hit or miss, but once I sat down and really took in the lyrics it hit me in a big way. Her voice is incredible. Best thing I've heard this year thus far.

Finally getting around to the Bob Mould and Ian Brown albums...the bob mould one is the same as always: good stuff that doesn't distinguish one song from another, and the Browno one gives me the same feeling as that roses song from a few years ago: ridiculously awful but still leaves me grinning like a goon at the end.

I always find Bob Mould solo a big cringey. Thing is he isn't that far off hold steady or jesse malin in cringe levels but for some reason I can never tolerate him.

Best thing I've heard this year thus far. I'd say it has a very strong start but then loses focus halfway through. Although it could be a matter of the singles being on the first half and the second one needing more listens.

I generally enjoy them in the 35-40 minutes I listen to each one, but nothing ever sinks in, to the extent that if you held a gun to my head and said "name one Bob Mould song", I'm not sure I'd have an answer. And I just listened to it 45 minutes ago.

Honestly though, the Little Simz album is the best thing i've heard in UK hip hop in i don't know how long.

New Weezer is atrocious. Loved EWBAITE and White but the last 2 have been an absolute pile of honking shite.

So true it hurts, Tux, 3 if you count that covers record. EWBAITE might be my second favourite by them tbh. You can always save a song or two from the recent ones but a complete shame.

Both new Gurr singles are excellent.

The specials album is appalling. They should have left well enough alone.

The Little Simz album is OUTRAGEOUSLY good. Album of the year material. On it. Really liked 3 of the songs I have heard of it. Super talent. Any thoughts on new Solange? A Seat At The Table really blew me away. Only heard the newie through once, seems like it will need a few listens to scratch the surface.

There's literally no fat on that Little Simz record, it's tune after tune after tune.

There's literally no fat on that Little Simz record, it's tune after tune after tune. Think she's playing TCOTU soon captain. Don't miss it. She's even better live.
