Thought it was slightly arse on first listen but this record is quite the grower. Really like it now, comfortably the best Gallagher solo album IMO, though the HFB records are all hamstrung by NG's shit voice.
The only weakish track is Meadow for me, but even that works OK in the context of the album as it sets up The River nicely. Glimmer is a showcase for the elevator effect of LG's vocals.
Agree with the point that it would be nice to hear LG's quirky deadpan wit translate into his lyrics. Could imagine it being Shaun Ryder-esque, which would be a good thing IMO.

It really isn't Sully lol, I don't know who that is. Used to post on SB years ago with this name.

Weird, it does kinda sound like him, but something sounds off as well.
Yeah I've heard it 3 times. Waiting to post a track by track, I did it with the last record and changed my mind about a few numbers shortly after. TBH Ive been listening to pretty much nothing but Daniel Johnston since he died so I've not spent enough time with it yet. All I will say is Glimmer is so much better than anything on the record.

I was unsure on Glimmer but it really clicked for me just last night!

LG currently playing Now That I’ve Found You on The One Show. Sounds alright. It’s a forgettable song, like the album in general tbh

The Liam record has had no staying power with me. Enjoyed it less with each listen tbh: 3 or 4 good songs, the rest I wouldn’t mind if I never hear again.
Still there’s probably an albums worth of great material from the two solo and two BDI records. I’m glad to have him around popping up every 3 years with a good single or two plus tour.

Mostly agree with all that. I guess that's what was missing on the Pitchfork review. Like Baz said I thought it was mostly spot on, but they forgot he's being quite successful with this formula (in Britain at least), so it makes sense to stick with it.
