New Eels is dire. Some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard.
"Baby you're a full meal, the way you make me feel, it's kinda a big deal, baby let's make it real"
FFS
And my personal favourite...
"I get it, everybody likes sex....but are you fucking your ex?"
😅😅😅

I was really pleased that the Ryan Adams lp wasn't very good.

New Macca is quite good tbh, first track should be trimmed a bit but that's about it. Many reviews pick Deep Deep Feeling as the best track and while I kinda see their point, I prefer many others little ones that could have fitted on the White Album or Abbey Road, which are probably my 2 favourite Beatles records. Shall I treat it as a 2021 record? srk

My daughter is "giving" the LP to me (as in I bought it, my wife wrapped it etc etc) for xmas, so i may hold off and wait until the 25th to dive in. (Or i may turtle it tonight and pour myself a bushmills tbd). It is absolutely a 2020 record. Going to blast I and II this afternoon to get in the macca mood.
Simply having a wonderful christmastime!

Wait for that tbh, it will feel more special. It's not mindblowing but a very Macca record and a very 2020 one as you said.

Another late release, last week came the debut record by Aiko El Grupo (https://newadventuresinpop.bandcamp.com/album/va-totalmente-en-serio), again a bit brotherJPy but livelier and more cheerful than Melenas, more like Rata Negra/Juanita Los feos. Short and fun tbh.

If Tiña were American you'd probably despise them... Not bad but they're not very special, are they? Like a lesser version of Temples at some moments.

Temples are far more mainstream and only have one kind of song, while Tiña don't sound anything like them most of the time I feel there are a couple songs with those light psych pop vibes. Avi Buffalo was another band that came to mind for some reason.
