I've not kept up with 2020 releases as much as I have others years but so far this Bastien Keb album is the best thing I've heard this year.

that's a shame. the album is a whole mood. it is varied, thematic, cinematic and grounded really beautifully by the main voice. i didn't stop playing it all day yesterday. have i sold you into a full listen yet?

Finally getting to the new springsteen album....there's a song on it called 'janey need a shooter', which he first wrote in the early 70s, and shock of shocks, it's the best thing he's done in at least a decade. (It's also sounds like a tribute to Warren Zevon, who stole the song title.)

It's definitely his best album since Magic. Which admittedly isn't saying all that much, but still! It's good!

New Gorillaz tomorrow. Elton John and Robert Smith are 2 of the guests this time. Listening to new Gorillaz now, seems pretty good. Didn't bother with The Now Now (should I?) and don't recall feeling Humans was anything amazing. Perhaps I'll go back to that too. |

No, this is the best since Plastic Beach by far. I just wish St Vincent had sung a bit more on her feature but it's quite good overall

Yeah, I think it's the best since Plastic Beach too, although I did like Humanz. Gig in Luxembourg announced for next July today. No such thing as a bad Gorillaz gig.
