New Strokes is great. AOTY - mark it down for me now Barney. Mahoney. Kiss a dick. Stay safe and don’t like any shopping carts. I take back what I said Steve. I listened to the whole album twice this morning and it’s easily better than their last two albums. The album opener and “at the door” are great songs, with the rest being somewhere between good and okay. Still not the comeback they deserve but a good album at least.

I gave it a couple of listens through and it feels half arsed. Strokes by numbers. No really bad songs and no really good ones either.
I would say they could have saved some time and effort and just released a b-sides album, cos that's kind of what it feels like. But i'm not sure much time and effort went into it.

Complete mixed bag. I thought it was alright, sorta of a 6.5/10
I wish they'd made a couple more songs like Bad Decisions.

I think I’d rate it as their 3rd best album it almost surpasses Room On Fire for me.
The other day I was listening to First Impressions Of Earth and it’s just to long with a lot of filler if you take out about 4 or 5 songs you have another excellent Strokes album.
I haven’t given Angles or Come Down Machinr enough spins to decide which one I like better.
Also on a side note I have been listening to Albert’s solo work and he’s recent releases have been very good ! Definitely my favourite Strokes side project.

New Strokes album is brilliant!
And by 'brilliant' I mean 7/10
And by '7/10' I mean Endless Summer is absolutely fucking epic.

She's the female Nick Cave, when it comes to adulation. No one would dare criticise her.

Been furiously reloading Spotify hoping to see the new Weezer album appear only to learn it got delayed.
Really like the 2 singles, and Rivers has said it's all guitars with big solos. Can't be any worse than the last 2.

Totally in love with the new Laura Marling record. Might be her best yet, if not then it's on par with Once I Was An Eagle. Incredibly high standard of output, 7 records & side project in 12 years. Gutted I'm not seeing her now.

Few other things I've been enjoying
Happyness: Their best record yet?
Primo!: the girls from Terry, big step up from their debut.
Caleb Landry Jones: He's an actor, if you watch a lot of modern films you will have seen him in stuff, weird looking bastard. This is like a weird psych-pop record, clearly obsessed with sgt peppers, very Foxygen. Probably outstays its welcome, but was pleasantly surprised by it.
Sun is Poison: a little lo-fi solo (I assume) folk project I found on bandcamp. For fans of Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Neutral Milk Hotel
the Strokes: has grown on me loads, had it on in the garden the other day and it could be the soundtrack of this weird summer, who'd have thought it.
Hotel Lux EP is great, last track being one of the best songs I've heard this year
Nathan Fake: Techno/IDM thing, had never any of his records until this.
Baxter Dury: His records are consistently brilliant.
Fiona Apple: Yeah, it's pretty damn good
Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad - Jazz Is Dead 001: Fun little jazz record, I say little because most the tracks are really short for a jazz record, has a ton of guests on there (Marcos Valle, Joae Donato, Roy Ayers), really on point, positive vibes.
