Nothing particularly special was on the books until a few weeks ago, and now I’ve got tickets to see pulp, weller and the hives within a week of each other all at the same venue.

Day splits finally announced for that Ipswich festival. Unfortunately lots of The jazz stuff I fancied is on the Friday whereas Saturday is the more indie day with Tapir who are my main reason for going, so Saturday it is. Yoni Myraz is on the Saturday though whose album I really liked last year so at least a bit of jazz shall be had.
Autumn starting to take shape nicely now too...

Just got a ticket for DJ Shadow in Norwich in July.
Anyone seen him live in recent years? Obviously the first two albums are great but can't say I've been impressed with much of his more recent output. Hoping he's still worth seeing.

I’m seeing them on Saturday, but this a little marketing spiel for the Sadies…they’re doing a UK tour in July. Even though Dallas is dead and part of the awesomeness of their guitar interplay is gone, they’re still a great 75-minute set.

My upcoming gigs list has taken a hit today. I’m going to see the ‘outlaw music fest’ on Friday, mainly for Dylan (of course) but also Robert plant/alison Krauss and Willie Nelson. Willie has missed the first 4 dates of the tour (including tonight) so it seems unlikely he’ll make it to Friday. And then just now Neil Young cancelled his entire summer tour, and I was supposed to see him in two weeks. FFS.

Hopefully it's one of Willie Nelson's sons rather than anything up with Neil.
I've come to terms with the fact I'll probably not see Neil again. If he comes back it'll be no doubt at Hyde Park and £100 to stand a million miles back where I can't hear sod all. Also the fact his setlists look much shorter than they used to be, which of course is understandable when he's 127 years old, but for the kinda money he'll command I think I'll have to pass.

gutted that kamasi is a shit night of the week and also there are already TWO great gigs in norwich that night. desperate to see him. seems adverse to playing a saturday night anywhere in the uk too the cunt.
chuffed that gilles peterson has been added to lcd/pixies all points east. the man solely responsible for my short breaks from listening to terrible ladrock once in a while.
got a few nasty clashes in norwich this year. had a ticket for maximo park in october but tapir! have been announced for the same night. maximo has sold out so ive stuck mine on twickets and fairly confident someone will have that nearer the time so i can do tapir! instead as i couldnt make that ipswich thing in the end.
also in october is a 3 way clash in norwich of libertines, stone foundation and ishmael ensemble all playing the same night. i have a libertines ticket but fucking love stone foundation. i reckon there's a decent chance depending on my mood at the time that i last minute flog libertines and do stone foundation. we shall see.
dont normally have these sort of issues in norwich but we are back!

Got lucky with Kamasi's back injury and can make the new date in April. Flogged that Maximo Park ticket too so Tapir it is. I reckon this will probably be it for this year now. Few bits starting to get added for 25.
