Fucking love Giants, just a brilliant album put into even sharper perspective by what came after it, if Noel had the balls to keep them going down that path they could have made some really fearsome shit. Only indisputable low point is the second half of the completely unnecessary Noel double header, after he's yawned his way through the last Sunday Morning Call chorus you've forgotten the greatest rock n' roll singer of his generation is even in the band, thank God for I Can See A Liar cutting through those angelic little shits with a buzzsaw. And Roll It Over has to be the most underrated Oasis track of ever, even you never mentioned it in your glowing write-up Barny.

I know it is widely loved here, but besides the amazing vocals I don't feel it at all. It's probably cos as you say the album goes downhill on the second half and it doesn't recapture the charm for me.

Don't get me wrong, it's a tune. Yesterday I offered my throat to the Gods to it

Had an early morning listen to MGMT's Congratulations while driving to work. It renewed my opinion on that album and band, really good and underrated effort. Every song could be analyzed for hours or simply enjoyed in 4 minutes. It's like they had a list of music genres to touch and then strung them brilliantly here and there. Then it all fades away with the majestic title track. 8/10

Wintersox - Triumphant Elephant
9.6/10
Let's just say he makes Jagger & Richards look like droopy-eyed armless children, and thats only 2 songs in.

I've got this downloaded, can't wait to give it a go. 40+ tracks isn't there? He spoils his fans.

was originally a 10.0 but ive deducted 0.4 points cos its not tagged --> no scrobbling.
David Santo - Silver Currents 8/10
Had this one on the computer for ages, have no clue about who/what it is. If anybody knows him: more info. it's one of those obscuro 60's LP's from some blog?
Any way, solid acoustic record, sounds like the whole album is a stripped down version of the VU's ''Sunday Morning'' mixed with dedicated children's friend Papa John Phillips' Wolfking album

E - A Man Called (E) -> 7/10
Never felt the urge to listen to E's early records, thought they were gonna be boring and dated but I've just given a spin to his debut and I am pleased I did. It's like a poppy amateurish version of Eels, sweet melodies seasoned with a pleasant carefree feeling.

Guided by Voices: The Best of Guided By Voices: Human Amusements At Hourly Rates, 9/10. I have to admit, besides this best of, I haven't listened to anything else. But I really should, what an amazing band.

I find Guided by Voices quite hit or miss, instead of ending proper songs they end with 20 pieces 5 of which are completely brilliant. Which is part of their charm I supose.

What Barnstickles said. I tend to go through their albums and love about 5 songs and the rest just feel unfinished. Top band though, once I get through their entire discography I'll have about 3000 songs I dig.
