"I'm sure the fans over the last week have felt let down by what they've read and seen. But my position was from concern over the future.
"The fans have been brilliant with me since I arrived and it's up to me through my performances to win them over again."

I hope united fans have enough bollocks to give him a bit of abuse & not chant out his name like a messiah the second he next walks out at Old Trafford next home game. He really should have to prove himself again to the people who idolise him who he's really let down this week. I've a feeling he'll walk out like nothing has happened to people chanting his name though. Same treatment for John Higgins by the pundits & fans as well, he's clearly a fucking cheat, I wish him nothing but bad luck when he returns though I'm gonna stick 10 quid on him becoming world champion because I can see it happening

Probably Man Utd will sell him at the end of the season. Maybe there`s a promise to sell him and he signs a new contract, becouse they would get less money if they were selling him with only one season left at his contract.

What a cunt. What's changed then ? I'll tell you what hasn't changed, the future, it's looking grimmer by the minute. United would have been much better off using the Rooney funds to strengthen the team. Honestly, I don't think they'd have seen a lot of the Rooney money. He's acted like an absolute cunt, no doubt about it, but, he's a great player and hopefully he can re-capture his form. Anyone who says he's finished based on the World Cup and the start of this season is a mug. Moz & Mahoney are both right. It's gonna take a lot for people to forgive him and he deserves some abuse from fans. Thing is, I don't think they'll give him it in fear of upsetting him and making him unhappy. Really hope they give him a grilling, though.

He's signed because he can't anymore money elsewhere.
The four clubs who could afford him (City, Chelsea, Barca, Madrid) all have better strikers than him and in any case will have one eye on the new fair play rules so will be less inclined to pay his 'asking' rate on top of a huge transfer fee.
There's no new found loyalty or sudden realisation of how JUST how big United are.... he's getting more from United than he could elsewhere. End of. FACT. etc

You must be happy that you won't be losing Torres, though.

Not happy in the slightest. It's disgraceful we even begged him to reconsider.
Spoken to the owners, lol? Glazer must have personally promised him Sneijder!

I don't actually know what to make of all this. I suppose if I was a Man U fan I would be really pissed off. Why on earth would you come out in October and say you want to leave unless you absolutely had your heart set on it. Even then it's a dodgy manoeuvre to the fans. his head must be up his arse at the moment.
