Ok, here's my track by track review for Phieniac's mixtape. Well, each to their own. A review of your mixtape is coming up. EDIT: Fuck each to their own. I wanted a more atmospheric mixtape that was more focused on rhythms rather than poppy hooks, hence some of the dub and instrumental choices. I can understand if you think the dub songs are boring and just about echoes and basslines but that's what dub is all about, I love the sense of void and space in dub records and love when more mainstream artists like Primal Scream and James Blake takes those kind of things and turn it into pop. Also, Rock Your Baby might have a very slick production but the song's fucking great.

Definitely going to rig the draw next time so we get a shenandoah Vs phieniac rematch just to see how it turns out.

might be good for know-it-all like-it-all like you folks, but to me it just sounds like one of those tracks they put in the movies for comedy purpose.

Shenandoah's got horribly conservative taste, should have been established before, was still good to see someone write about what they honestly thought about their tape.

Shenandoah's got horribly conservative taste, should have been established before Well yeah, I guess you can call it conservative taste, although I'd just say I have criteria and I'm very "song oriented", so sounds alone hardly impress me. I can tell you what makes (in my opinion) this and that song work or not, though. I guess that people who have listened to Phieniac mixtape with my track by track under their nose, even if they don't agree with me they can see my point. I might be picky but I'm not capricious. I'm curious to see what people have made of my mixtape, since Phieniac's not going to make a review because he took it badly.

Not at all, my internet's been down the last couple of days. I enjoyed your mixtape, a few songs that just passed by without me noticing but most of it was good, some stuff i hadn't heard before. Great song selections concerning Warren Zevon and Paul Simon, wonderful songs. Can't go wrong with a bit of The Modern Lovers and Mark Kozelek either.

My Last.fm is not indicative of everything I listen to as its attached to iTunes and I dont like to add everything to itunes. I have listened to your tape a few times, I just havent sat down and written feedback as it has escaped my mind. Ill do so within the next day or so. Also have to do it for Brad.

I didn't realise sharing mix tapes could cause such pain Sorry guys, I had good intentions but all I've done is create a recipe for disaster. Dion's debut is fantastic. Been a big fan of a few of his songs since I was a kid as they featured on the soundtrack for The Wanderers.

Yeah I love all those earlier rock n roll classics, like The Wanderer and Runaround Sue, but i'd never really bothered to check out anything further, but that mid 70's Spector produced album is fantastic. I didn't realise he was a proper smack addict too
