Ganning to see this lot at the end of the month, really looking forward to it. Haven't got any of the records though tbh.

might be worth getting the latest couple, i'd imagine the setlist will be real heavy on the trilogy soon as E hasn't toured any of these songs before.

They played a warm up gig in LA last week, lots of new stuff, the band was E, Kool G Murder, Knuckles (those 3 played on Hombre Lobo), The Chet (Long term, multi instrumentalist colaborater) and some new guitarist, pretty loud and no keys, but not as loud as the no strings attached tour.. this was the setlist (may not be fully complete) Daisies of the Galaxy Little Bird End Times Prizefighter In My Younger Days Gone Man Summer in the City (Lovin’ Spoonful cover) Tremendous Dynamite In My Dreams In My Younger Days Paradise Blues My Beloved Monster Spectacular Girl Fresh Blood Dog Faced Boy That Look You Gave That Guy Souljacker Part I Mr. E’s Beautiful Blues Jungle Telegraph Summertime (Gershwin standard, done a la Billy Stewart’s ’60s version) Looking Up ————- I’m Going to Stop Pretending That I Didn’t Break Your Heart ————- A Magic World Only a couple from Tomorrow Morning, nothing from ESB, heavy on Hombre Lobo and End Times stuff, bit that is an extremely short set for an Eels gig, they usually play at least 30 songs a night, but this was a small warm up in the Galaxy Theatre that they always play at the start of tours so could just be a rough idea, I like the band though and looking forward to the new takes on old songs they always do.. They also played summersonic festival in Japan but no reviews or setlist info yet but some pictures.. E The Band (Minus Kool G..) The Chet New dude Knuckles Kool G Murder

I'd be delighted if they played a set like that in Edinburgh, don't know a lot of the stuff on it but I can see myself getting into these guys a lot after seeing them live.

Nice one glad you liked it Rod, End Times is alot more piano based, very depressing record. I've seen people slatting it on other sites, I fucking love it & I think it's slightly better than Hombre Lobo though it's a definite grower despite being so simplistic. probably my favourite record of the year though I am kloot's newie sounds better and better every time I put it on.

What a fucking band, ashamed of myself for not letting E into my life any sooner. Blinking Lights is sounding like the most perfect Sunday night record ever right now.

How are you finding Electro Shock Blues Karl?
It was definitely the hardest to really get into, and I always like a lot of the songs from it, then one day it just seemed to click with me and all made sense and I think its an actual masterpiece now, definitely the best thing he has ever done, so interesting and heartbreaking and experimental but simple at the same time.
