Just saw "Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives", that BBC doc. Quite great if you love the man and let me discover Rotten World Blues. Getting big for the man right now, Friday is the day.

Been getting into "Shootenanny" these last few days. Perhaps an obvious choice but "Saturday Morning" is one of the best powerpop tunes I've heard in a while.

Yeah, it's one of the first non Hombre Lobo tunes that I loved, pretty instant, just like the album. I think I burnt it a little too much though

For anyone going to see them on the new tour, they played their customary Galaxy Theatre warm up gig on Wednesday, similar band to the previous tour (E, Knuckles, The Chet, Pee-Boo), the only changes being Big Al back in on bass in place of Koool G Murder and a horn section!
Where as the previous tour was quite heavy on the recent trilogy stuff, this new set seems a tad more of a general spread of stuff, really excited about some of the songs, they opened with 'Thats Not Really Funny' which I never thought they'd play, they also did Novocaine For The Soul as close to the album version as they have ever really done, they also did 2 Sly & The Family Stone songs!
Setlist:
That’s Not Really Funny Flyswatter Somebody’s Watching You (Sly & The Family Stone cover) Grace Kelly Blues Packing Blankets Son of a Bitch Prizefighter My Beloved Monster In the Yard, Behind the Church Fresh Feeling That’s Not Her Way Tremendous Dynamite I Like the Way This is Going Love of the Loveless This Is Where It Gets Good Saturday Morning That Look You Give That Guy Hot Fun in the Summertime (Sly & The Family Stone cover) Knuckles song Novocaine For The Soul Souljacker Pt 1. I Like Birds Beginner’s Luck Losing Streak ----- It's a Motherfucker PS You Rock My World --- Fresh Blood Looking Up

I listened to Meet the Eels about two months ago and thought they were alright but this thread made me want to delve a bit deeper so I tried a few of the albums and fuck me they have some amazing records that blow the best of away.
Electro-shock blues and Souljacker have to be my top 2 at the minute. 3 Speed and Bus Stop Boxer are incredible.

Hell yeah. They'll be the bollocks at Glastonbury.
My favourite three are End Times, Blinking Lights and Other Revelations & Shootenanny!. All their records are great though.
