I'm going to have to do the same. I've only listened to End Times before, which I thought was pretty good but it didn't exactly grab me.

Speaking as the person who probably knows the least about Eels in this whole thread, Dasies Of The Galaxy is a good place to start

Setlist was fairly similar to the one Kev posted a few pages back but fuck me, that's one of top 5 gigs I've ever been to. The Lovin' Spoonful cover is the best live cover I've ever heard (probably helps that it's one of my favourite songs of all time tbh), and the latest re-working of Mr E's Beautiful Blues is one of the best moments I've ever experienced at a gig. What a band.

Seeing Eels in Manchester next Saturday for the first time, a long time overdue. As for the best album, I've gotta say Electro-Shock Blues is now on par as my favourite album of all time. It's near perfect from start to finish, but the title track

1. What a man. 2. What a beard. 3. More beards are always welcome. 4. That early photos are class. 5. E's book!!!! Nobody has said anything about it, simply fundamental to complete the experience... 6. My top 3: Hombre Lobo, Shotenanny, Electro-Shock Blues. The first I heard / the raw, the MOR and the world class piece of art about life and death. 7. ESB must be one the more perfect things ever done, to think about the "life process" and the "writing process" impress me and makes me respect him like no other. The bit on the book when he cries after showing it to the bosses is probably my favourite 8. My girlfriend said she'd like to give him a hug after reading the book. 9. Seeing him/them on Barcelona in two weeks, will be a real highlight of the whole lot of highlights ever highlighted. 10. With all the love and that, can't say I did properly get into End Times, and it's happening the same with the new one. Can't feel the vibe, don't know why but I feel something's lacking and I'm starting to predict the moves he does on the songs, although the production could be completely different from one to another. 10 is enough, but I'm sure I wanted to say something else

End Times clicked big time with me a few weeks ago. Mansions of Los Feliz is an absolute beast that i hadn't paid much attention to. Not really had time to listen to the new one yet, which is shameful, but I'll get round to it.

Haha, I saw them on Saturday and he was wearing the exact same clothes as in that photograph. Great gig. Was hoping for more from the first three albums but there was very little, but still, excellent to finally see the great man live. I caught a lolly he threw into the crowd too

Well they were calippos to be more exact and he threw about ten of them. I gave mine to a girl behind though as it wasn't interfering with my beer Oh and 10/10 for the compulsory beards

The run of Dog Faced Boy > That Look You Gave That Guy > Souljacker Part 1 > Talkin' Bout Knuckles > Mr E's Beautiful Blues > I Like Birds was amazing! Karl, now that you are a fully fledged musician, you should take part in the new Eels fans covers album they do at Rockingeels / Estranged friends.. here: www.rockingeels.com/?page_id=920I'll probably be doing another one.

Did they do the knuckles song? That had me in stitches, I'M KNUCKLES They did Also there were three single song encores? Not sure why I thought a solo/acoustic set half way through would have made it perfect but I can't complain. Loved the Hombre Lobo tracks the most, Prizefighter especially.

I thought Fresh Blood sounded huge, not the biggest fan of the song in general, but thought it came across live really well

yeah i think brixton had maybe 4, I think they thought it was somewhat amusing but it just destroyed the momentum they'd created with the run of tracks Kev mentioned above.
Cheers kev I will check it out.
