I'm really surprised Pala isn't on there, great album and easily a step on from the debut - which did get nominated. Nae really surprised Yuck isn't there, but would've been good to see. Do they qualify? Aren't half the band yanks? Wasnae sure, just had a look, 3 english, 1 yank, 1 hiroshima I mean, if Antony and the Johnsons can win it....

Well this is shite so far. Hopefully Bowie gets it just to piss Radiohead off a bit more.

Just watching the live version of Present Tense - it's definitely not some deep down dislike, I just don't get Radiohead at all, his voice is fucking grating. They are dull to me - this coming from a bloke who loves Elliott Smith, Cat Power, and all the other lo-fi shit. You just can't force it though, can you? So I've decided to give up trying to like them for the sake of it. Apologies guys!

I do enjoy the Skepta singles. Dunno if I'd enjoy him over an album.

I thought the Skepta album was decent. Not as good as Radiohead, Savages or Bowie but the Mercury Prize has never been about picking the best album. Load of fucking shite that it is.

For a year I've been trying very hard to think Skepta is not Stormzy over and over again but I always end up confusing them

Skepta has a massive back catalogue compared to Stormzy. But Stormzy wears better looking tracksuits.

Bloody love Skepta's album and i'm delighted that he won it. Well and truly sticking 2 fingers up to all the Spanish racists and Q magazine reading old men (Mahoney) out there. Feel guilty now though that the only 2 grime albums I have are his and Boy in da corner (obvs).
