I have a happy memory of stacking shelves in Tesco one boring Sunday evening in 2005 when Brian "Kickin' Up A Storm" McBride text me to say that Lyla had leaked, and it was brilliant. I ran home to download it. It's not the best thing they ever did, but it's a nice wee glam stomp number. Shite album, mind.

I remember burning the mp3 onto a CD ( ) and biking ( ) down to Tom's house as fast as I could with it , at night, in the dark. Vaugely remember wanting to listen to it ASAFP but he insisted upon wasting valuable time by pouring us a glass of warm, still fizzy, barely fermented home made 'wine' to listen to it with. I remember being pretty dissapointed (with Lyla, not the wine. We were pretty used to it).

I remember the day of my high school exam, I had this mate of mine who brought his laptop and forced me to sit down and listen to this new song that just got leaked -- (You've Got) The Heart of a Star pratically just minutes before my final exam.

I spent thirty quid on the Japanese import version of heathen chemistry with that as a bonus track. It's the worst thing I've ever bought. Sold it for twenty five on eBay when I got some sense.

Definitely the Different Gear, Still Speeding era. It's been amazing. Its not even an era, as hardly anyone is even aware of it ;D SOTSOG is clearly the era that should and will win. less songwriting by liam and the other no marks = WIN.

SOTSOG My copy's scratched a bit, so I will probably by another one so I can rip it in FLAC or WAV and not have to put up with any compression artifacts that mar Little James. Loved Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Gas Panic, Who Feels Love?. I also got a free VHS with the purchase.

I listened to SOTSOG on the drive into work this morning. The only tracks I wanted to listen to were Fuckin' In The Bushes, Go Let it Out, Who Feels Love, Little James, Gas Panic and Roll it Over. The Noel 1-2 of WDIAGW/SMC is brutal.

SOTSOG era for me. Was into Oasis as a kid but I really started getting obsessed from Be here now onwards. From when they played there last uk be here now gig in 97 to when sotsog was released felt like an eternity. So by the time sotsog dropped I was real hungry for new oasis and to see them live. Was pretty mad fer it around HC too as I was old enough and had enough money to go and see them a bit. Around that time I paid £150 to a tout to see the mcr apollo gig, saw them both nights at lccc and all 3 nights at finsbury That album was so bad though that it was the beginning of the end. I remember being at the lccc on the second night and watching noel belt out little by little for the fifth time that summer and thinking 'this isn't actually very good'. Enjoyed DBTT which kept it going for a bit but by the time DOYS came out i'd pretty much lost interest. Thinking about it, i've probablly only listened to that record all the way through, maybe 8 or 9 times, which for an oasis album is ridiculous - I reckon I must have played morning glory maybe a thousand times over the course of my life.

Whats the need for the uncertainty Dan, surely you can just whip those pie charts out again?

The pie charts only cover plays from around June 03 to Oct 06. Thus rendering it's effectiveness in listing 'career' plays of WTSMG and DOYS useless. It was also lost in a great hard disk failure of 09

The Noel 1-2 of WDIAGW/SMC is brutal. Sunday Morning Call is pretty good imo, but the production on WDIAGW makes me cringe, and the two rockers are enjoyable but a little weak. The rest is great. I always thought swapping those for Let's All Make Believe, Full On (with Liam on vocals), and Carry Us All/One Way Road could have propelled this album into godlike territory.

Big album. I'd just get rid of WDIAGW and stick Let's all make believe in there & you've got a winner.
Always loved the two rockers. Give a shit if they've got pony lyrics, most oasis tunes have anyway.
I still think
SOTSOG >> DOYS >>>>>> DBTT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HC

As far as Noel sung songs go I don't mind the two on SOTSOG, it's just a shame that that was the only part of the album which became a blueprint for future Oasis LPs. Never understood the love for One Way Road, for me it's one of the blandest things they ever put out.

Only because he used The Stands as his backing band. I bought that Studio 150 album it was on and listened to it once, shittest record ever.
