Is this meant to be the single? Or just a taster for the album?
It's not bad, but it's not great.

It does have some good bits, like when Julian's voice is normal again. But it does sound like something off Atari.
I think I know why it bothers me, the intro sounds like a song by an awful Mexican band called ManĂ¡. They're Mexico's own Nickelback. Yah.

I'll ignore what Ana said My opinion is that it is a quite risky presentation for the album, probably to make Julian happy, but I still think the album won't go very deep in this exact direction. Musically it works for me once I've got used to the 8-bit sound, and some part of the vocal melody does too, but everytime the voice appears for the first time in the song it makes me shudder.

Are The Strokes still a band? This is alright, but sounds 100% Casablancas and 0% Valensi, Hammond JR, Moretti or Fraiture.

True story, I used to get so much shit for liking oasis back in the day, particularly from this bastard who used to take my basketball away and "bully" me with saying such as " Mana are musicians and Oasis are a bunch of drug users" that was his argument, I'd just say my mom listens to Mana and shut them the fuck up. what an awful awful band Mana are, my god...... I remember planks going on about how the drummer was the best in the world and shit

One of the problems this song has is it doesn't even sound fresh and it's far from revolutionary, which I guess they'd like to think it is. But there have been a good 3 o 4 years with this synth-pop trend. So it still sounds weird and surprising, but only cos they're not suposed to sound like that.

tragic, too much coca or what? I'm sure...and I'm also sure there must've been other stuff, too. According to gossip, he was partying with this TV personality here who is known for his crazy drug-ridden antics.
