It does have some good bits, like when Julian's voice is normal again. But it does sound like something off Atari. I think I know why it bothers me, the intro sounds like a song by an awful Mexican band called Maná. They're Mexico's own Nickelback. Yah. Not the Mexican Nickelback I'm walking away from the song for a few days. In that time I'll either convince myself to love it, tear my jeans, wear converse, and be drunk all the time or I'll be comparing it to an Aaron Neville impersonator singing over the theme from a nintendo game

The Strokes have confirmed that they will release new album 'Comedown Machine' on March 25.
The title is the same one discovered on an album sleeve by fans who found an errant link in the coding of the band's official website last night (January 29). An official statement from The Strokes record label Rough Trade confirmed that the band's fifth album will be released in March with new single 'All The Time' preceding it.
The Strokes surprised fans last week when they released new track 'One Way Trigger' as a free download. Scroll down to hear the track now.
Last summer, NME confirmed that The Strokes were working on the follow-up to 2011's 'Angles'. Reports that the band had been working on new material at the famous Electric Lady Studios in their home city of New York were quickly denied by their management and record label.
However, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr's father – Albert Hammond Sr – revealed that the reports were true and the band were in the process of finishing up their fifth studio album.
Asked if the band were recording, Hammond Sr said: "Albert says that the stuff they're doing is incredible. They're doing it themselves with their friend, engineer and producer. He just says, 'Dad, it's incredible'."
'Comedown Machine' will be The Strokes fifth studio album following 'Is This it?', 'Room On Fire', 'First Impressions of Earth' 'and 'Angles'.

one way trigger is boring and predictable, it did grow a bit after 5 listenings though I hope theres some decent songs on the upcoming album, I didnt really like their last album, half of the songs were a bit weak and some of the better songs werent very good either. Some of their latest songs sound too much like Muse or something..I dont like their new sound very much. I understand that they want to try for changes and search for another directions, but it doesnt work very well unfortunately. The two first albums very classics, the third one had one great song and angles was decent but a bit forgettable.

The Strokes are like that one great relationship you once had 10 years ago that keeps barging into your life with shit excuses and then disappears again.
0/10 would not listen

At least All The Time seems to be great and it will allow mahoney to do again the Greatest Hits joke and then admitting 10 months later he digs the record.

I'm glad they're changing up the sound. It's nice to hear different stuff from artists. Everybody will be copying them in a few years

Fuck that, some bands I just want to repeat the same formula forever Ramones style. The PAINS and Strokes are two of them.

I'm scared for the new Pains lol. I like the few new songs I've heard but I have a feeling the next album is going to be a pure 'The Cure' tribute sounding album.

It does last 2 minutes I think it's good, it has a strange vocal moment that fucks me but otherwise it's alright. Very "All Mod Cons" tbh. Pretty convinced and accepted the album will be shit though.

Have to agree with Barny; I can't help but feel the new album will be a total abortion.

one way trigger is aamazing you fools!!
thought it was a bit out there with high vocals first few listens..but now it has become a morning addiction. The melody is just fantastic, a sad song with an upbeat instrumentation.
All the Time is ok... sounds like strokes b-side from Is this It era.
