I played that record to death, love the opener and closer combo and the rest is mostly good but would benefit being shorter.

The Strokes are recording a new album with Ric Rubin, according to Albert Hammond snr. Good news, I guess, but I would be more excited if they announced a proper UK tour. I enjoyed a few tracks off Comedown Machine but the lack of shows killed any momentum.

The band have of course since denied the story. And now Ryan Adams has thrown a major strop because he's blamed in a new book for getting Hammond Jnr into smack.
