Diane Coffee's second, Foxygen drummer, quite similar to them but more on the pop and soul side. Also recommend the debut for those who missed and still read this

Keeping on track with Barny's first listen opinions, the Richard Hawley one is absolutely delightful. Yes. Yes it is. I was a huge fan of the croonery stuff from lady's bridge and cole's corner, and I LOVED standing at the sky's edge, mainly because it was something new, but this is fab.

Anyone got any thoughts on the new New Order stuff?
I've heard 2 tracks (Plastic & Restless) and both are pretty good.

I quite like it but I only knew two songs from the original one. And tbh I'm not very fond of on Shake It Off, it takes out all the joy of the original one.

Shake it off reminds me of Bruce Springsteen - I'm On Fire.. same style

Yeah, it's well done and I guess it's better that way than directly reproducing the original but I feel a bit like a missed oportunity. But the rest of the album is totally fine for me (and DerEffe rated it with 4,5/5 on RYM).

Tape Hiss by Rats on Rafts
Noisy guitar pop with a bit of psych thrown in. 200mph a lot of the way. Bunch of working class lads from Rotterdam.
Sen-fucking-sational. Will be up there with the albums of the year for me.

Thee Tsunamis - Saturday Night Sweetheart, My favourite garage rock record of the year so far, good old fashioned snot-nosed, high energy shit from an all female 3-piece.

I'm loving the new record by Ought 'Sun Coming Down'
Definite post punk elements. I love the arrangements, there doesn't seem to be regular verse/chorus/verse moment on the whole album. It's an onslaught from start to finish. The singer is sitting somewhere between Mark E Smith and David Byrne.
