Aye that Grandaddy is one of my favourites from this year, too.
Has anyone bothered with the new Weezer? I got about 3 tracks in and couldn't continue. So disappointing because I really liked their last 2 albums.

Gave Howie Payne's new one a spin and it's pleasant but nothing jumped out at me. Aims for a sounds somewhere between The Stands and Bright Light Ballads but isn't as good as either of them on first listen.

I got the new Horrors record wrong, I've grown to like it quite a bit. A step up from Luminous though not in the same league as Skying or Primary Colours.
Loved the new Baxter Dury record on first listen, has appearances from the bloke from Sleaford Mods & Rose Elinor Dougall. Absolutely flew by, can only be about half hour long.

On another note, no one is touching the St. Vincent record this year, it is fucking awesome. Recreated a few scenes in American Psycho this past weekend without the murdering to a few tracks on the album. |
