quiet day for new releases yesterday but the bodega debut album is worth a listen for any parquet courts fans.

Never heard of these, song on youtube seems pretty good cheers.
Just downloaded a hip hop record by Blueprint, he's been about for a while though I've never heard anything by him. Just skimmed through on youtube & it sounds like my sorta thing

yeah i only heard of bodega as they're on the latitude lineup and was digging around the bands at the arse end of the bill.

i completely missed it when it came out back in february but ive just listened to "yes i jan" by bas jan and thought it was great. it has that slightly off kilter raincoats/slits type vibe and some interesting stuff going on. it's a side project band from serafina steer as far as i can tell and i remember her solo stuff being a bit dull but this definitley isn't.

I thought it was going to be weirder with that cover but on first listen sounded just a bit more chorus focused. New song by Art Brut too.
My year is in need of 2 or 3 records I really like tbh. There are 3 or 4 releases I am looking forward in the new weeks but not being very optimistic

new coral reminds me most of roots and echoes which i thought was their last great album. i don't think we're ever getting the eccentric beefheart influenced sounds of the first album back but this is just an album full of really good if slightly pedestrian pop songs.
