Absolutely loving the new Go! Team album. It's just pure joy and goodness, and might very well be my 2nd favourite album of theirs behind the debut.

I tend to agree at the moment. EDIT: I meant I agreed C_r_m btw. Really, this new Go! Team album is probably my favourite thing from the year so far.

3 albums released in the last fortnight that I'd be amazed if they weren't top 10 on lots of end of year lists. Alela Diane. Which I've covered. The new/old Car Seat Headrest record is bloody brilliant- his best yet for me. And the new U.S. Girls record (who,I'd never heard of before, but is apparently their/her sixth or seventh record) is the best pop record I've heard in a few years. Blows Lana Del Ray and Lorde out the water. I tried that Alela Diane record and it didn't do much for me, maybe I need to give it another couple of listens though it doesn't seem like the type of album that'd be a grower. Car Seat Headrest is very, very good. Only a few tracks stood out for me after 1 or 2 listens but I've had it on repeat over the weekend and it all just clicked into place yesterday. Not sure if I like better than Teens of Denial yet. It's weird because this sounds like a more mature album than Teens of Denial yet was wrote before it. Perhaps it's just the new production. U.S. Girls I think I'm going to like a lot. Played it a bit over the weekend and it seems like it could be something I could really get into.

Not an album, but, while digging around on Bandcamp, I came across a French female-fronted band called Gloria. They've got a 60s pop thing going on but are also a bit garage rock and a bit psych. They had an album out in 2016 called In Excelsis Stereo that I'm listening to as we speak and it's really good.
Anyway, the song I stumbled across is from an EP they'll be releasing in March...
It's fucking excellent, no?

I'm really loving the Insecure Men record, which, like the Moonlandingz record from last year is ostensibly a Fat White Family record album in disguise, being that it is mostly written by Saul & Lias. This is Saul's baby though and he's taking centre stage on this. It's a really odd sounding record, sort of lounge pop, primitive drum machines and synths with elements of Calypso thrown in.
Pretty much love everything these lot do, but was pleasantly surprised by how strong the album is overall.
New Fat White record due later this year as well.

I am not the biggest fwf fan and this is closer to my alley. Still not fully satisfied by it but entertaining enough

US girls - great record
I also have a soft spot for the new Sunflower Bean stuff. If I was a fool and Twentytwo have a kind of later Fleetwood mac thing going on plus Id like to have sex with the blonde singer Julia.

Liking the new Gwenno album a lot (She of the Pipettes). The whole album is in Cornish, electro-pop vibes. The first single was a banga

Really liked that Gwenno tune, Kev. Will check out the album.
Thought the US Girls one was decent, but mostly enjoying The Orielles at the moment. Fey North American indie pop but with a lot more backbone than the likes of Alvvays or Pains.

Listened to a few tracks from that Haley Heyndrickx over the weekend, sounded promising but wasn't in the mood for that sort of thing so turned it off. Will definitely go back to it on your recommendation. Been listening to the latest album from someone called Lucy Dacus, been getting similar vibes off it. Check it out.
