Couple of albums I've been really digging this last week...
Carpenter Brut - Leather Teeth Mooching around on Bandcamp, it was the album cover that struck me and made me decide to give this a listen. It's a synth-wave album from some a French band who I assume are influenced by John Carepenter's movie scores. It's a lot of fun if you're into this sort of thing and I've played it quite a bit this last week.
Beechwood - Songs From The Land of Nod Indie-rock band from NYC. They're pretty raw sounding. Some faster and more raucous sort of garage rock type tunes, some slower sort of dreamy/hazy type tunes, and then some tunes which are a bit of both. The singer sometimes sounds a bit like Lou Reed. They also do a pretty sweet cover of The Kinks.

The trilogy which collects 3 eps by Carpenter Brut is golden if you enjoy Justice

Is there anything similar to Only God Knows or is it more in the vein of every other song by them that I don't like?

Checkout a band called Sheer Agony. Nothing like The Virginmarys, I swear.

Love the Martha Ffion record, camera obscure/rilo Kiley type thing I've listened tot his about 5 times already, I fucking love it. Unfortunately I'm not hearing what's so great about US girls. Every time I hear or see someone big them up I go back to youtube to check out another song so I must have heard at least half the album by now & none of the numbers remotely interest me.

OH FUCK SAKE. I hate adding new artists on there, the mods are always so arsey with my submissions. Hopefully that mug JP will do it

haha i was waiting for you to do it. i never bother with adding artists anymore. it's got to the point where sometimes i don't even bother listening to an album by someone if they're not on rym as i can't be bothered to add them but also would hate the thought of not rating an album i really liked martha ffion when we saw her at latitude a few years back. i liked the album on first listen but didn't think it was anything amazing, just a solid good album. my 3.5 star rating is waiting for you to do the rym business. i just can't stop listening to the haley heynderickx album, that's the one that's really got me at the moment, AND she's on rym.

Her name sounds like a porn star, I’ll have to check I’ve not had a wank over her shagging her step brother.
Best not be bloody girly folk music!

Checkout a band called Sheer Agony. Nothing like The Virginmarys, I swear. Seriously guys, I can't recommend this enough. It's got 60's pop-rock thing going on while being a little rough around the edges, production wise. I've been totally addicted to it all week. Here is the album cover:
