Love the artwork on this. This one took a few listens to click with me but these songs are really revealing themselves to me now. I think I prefer the more delicate numbers on this release. "Never Thought I'd See You Again" is such a gem, the fuzz guitar that comes in at the back end really makes it for me.

My thoughts on Afternoon will come a little later today. I had a listen through last night and there were definitely a couple of tracks that grabbed my attention. Gonna give it a few spins this afternoon and then I'll share my thoughts.

Just having my first listen to this now. I'll Hold The Mirror is outstanding! Jangly guitars gave me a Lemonheads vibe in places, my favourite of yours that I've heard so far. 

I hope Whirly hasn't abandoned us already.

Followed Karl's lead and listened to I'll Hold The Mirror
I liked it A WHOLE LOT.
Reminded me a bit of a forgotten US band from the mid-2000, The Long Winters, but sped up a touch
this is deffo going into the monthly playlist

"I'll hold the mirror" was written lyrics first, and the vocals were recorded first to lay the foundation for the music. the original vocals aren't the ones on the album, of course, but a version does exist.

Whirlz, what would you say are your biggest influences?

Whirzy, have you heard the band Connections? Their debut Private Airplane I think is one of the greatest pieces of noisy indie rock ever recorded

the big one is guided by voices, but this album has shades of Wire, Pere Ubu, Deerhoof, Jeffrey Lewis, Swirlies, Sebadoh, and dare I say Blur
