Calm down, Stevie Boy, we haven't really been an Oasis forum for a long time.

Moving onto the Month of 11EP. Whirlz, are Third Seed, sebring scope & Bloomshock previous bands you were involved with? Not names I've ever come across before. That shockwave rider cover is great, that's a band I remember seeing the name floating about a while back which I never got to hear, definitely going to check out whatever record that comes from. Glimmer is the other real highlight for me on this one, fantastic when the chorus kicks in. Enjoyable EP this one. Current score: Uncle Bob 375 - Hello Whirled 9.

oh yeah, no victories is out now. those of you who pre-ordered will have 17 songs waiting for you. it's #100 in the bandcamp order. congrats, I shall give it a good listen over the upcoming weeks. But for now I am continuing the quest: Love the artwork on this. This one took a few listens to click with me but these songs are really revealing themselves to me now. I think I prefer the more delicate numbers on this release. "Never Thought I'd See You Again" is such a gem, the fuzz guitar that comes in at the back end really makes it for me. Favourites are: Dig the Fast Track Down the Hall of Air The Crown Is Ours Never Thought I'd See You Again Current score: Uncle Bob 375 - Hello Whirled 7. I think this is a big step up from the first 2 releases. I think the songs are, for most part, more well crafted and sound more assured. I'm not going to do a track by track because it's Monday and I should be working on a presentation I've got to deliver on Wednesday. But what I will do is pick my favourites, which are: Dean Mercury Dig The Fast Track The Crown Is Yours Passage Never Thought I'd See You Again And No One That run from Dig The Fast Track to Never Thought I'd See You Again is splendid, truly. Cracking listen.

Today's record, Sanitation Rain EP. 5 tracks in 9 minutes. Decent EP, productions a little too muddy in places, you can tell there's good songs wanting to jump out but being held back a bit, Valley of the Dunes is ruined a bit by the harshness of the drum sound. Highlights are the short but sweet You'll Know by Now & the GBV cover of What Begins On New Year's Day which I actually prefer to the original, works better stripped back. Current score: Uncle Bob 375 - Hello Whirled 11.

Continuing my quest with the 13 track STERILE. Dig the artwork on this. This record I've not really warmed to, mostly all solid, yet nothing other than "I Heard It" really grabbed me in a big way. Current score: Uncle Bob 375 - Hello Whirled 12.

Nice, prefer your version but will have a listen to some other stuff they've recorded. Instant Pandemonium. six song EP, I feel I'll be saying this countless times but this is another where it took a good few listens to reveal itself but it's really hitting home now. Jesus Didn't Die For Us is a great little opener. Desperate Clotheslines is bloody brilliant, I really like the bass line though I wish it was mixed a little better, still hell of a song. Birth And Dairy is one of those gone in a second simple tunes that I'm a complete sucker for. The final 3 songs including the GBV cover are all solid though didn't grab me like the opening 3. One of my favourite releases so far. Current score: Uncle Bob 375 - Hello Whirled 15.

Think it's the first release which has saw me enjoy evert track in one way or another. While I don't think the tracks here are better than some of the stuff from Morning or Afternoon, the quality is still good and more consistent. If I was doing a best of ( I might start one actually) I'd probably include everything on here. Good work.

Agree with you that Valley of the Dunes is spoilt a bit by the harshness of the drums. BUT, I do think there is a potentially a really good fucking song there.

We should turn this into a recurring theme of The Soapbox though. Every once in a while we invite these great Bandcamp artists whom we find interesting and they provide guidance while we go through their catalogue. ...AND THEN WE PUNCH THEM TO OASIS

mid season?! you've listened to 5 things out of 100! you haven't even left 2016! Oh, you haven't seen his Around the World with Mahoney in Alphabetical Order thread! He stops at B...when he realises the next 20 would be shithole countries.
okay I'll keep the thread going with a few questions so the guys can catch a break
So Whirlz, how can you be so prolific, what's your secret? Do you have a songwriting method? Do you have certain steps/rules that you follow?
A lot of people we know write songs and then hold on until they have enough to release an album. But you seem to think of "albums" rather than songs...so you don't sit down and write a song...you sit down and write a full release (album, ep etc)...would this be correct?
Do you play live often (of course in normal conditions, not under covid-19)? How do you pick your setlist?
My favourite songwriter ever - Jason Molina - would go on stage and play songs that he had written that afternoon...does that happen to you as well? He would also get mad if people requested songs that were older than a number of years...god bless him.
If you had to release a Best of Hello Whirled, what songs would go on it?
