Probably already a thread on this but I couldn't find one using the search bar.
A place to lay out all our musical confessions - the good, the bad and the well the ugly.
I'll start us off.
1. Blur - I have never listened to a full record by them. I just can't seem to get through a full one without turning it off.
2. Oasis - I use to hate Champagne Supernova in my formative years. I was always bored that the song was so long. I now have a true appreciation for it.

I spent my teenage years thinking Noel Gallagher was the most important member of Oasis.

I purchased Hanson's debut album on tape at Newcastle Airport and listened to it on the way to Turkey til the batteries on my tape player ran out.
Christmas 1997 my parents asked me which CDs I wanted for Christmas. I could only choose 2 and I almost chose a Lighthouse Family album over Be Here Now. I remember agonising over the choice for weeks. The other CD I got was NOW 38.

I hate the Foo Fighters and for some reason right now they seems to be the biggest band in the world. I do love Everlong though but it pains me to know it's a Foo Fighters song.

The first Foo Fighters record is pretty good. Big Me > life!

I hadn't heard rumours by Fleetwood Mac until last year. It's one of the worst things I've ever heard.

I owned both Michael Jackson's greatest hits and bryan adams' waking up the neighbours, and traded both to my younger sister for her copy of morning glory after I got into oasis after I saw the video for "d'you know what I mean?" in late 1997.
I also think Ringo Starr's 'sentimental journey' album is better than every single thing Bob Dylan did between 2014-2019.

Some weeks ago I listened to my Nickelback CD in order to rate it on RYM.
Fun fact: I discovered Nickelback back (back back) in 2002 as they were going to play The Hindu Times on the radio and they put the famous one by them prior to it.

I have discovered My Generation by The Who and My Generation by Limp Bikzit around the same time (2000) and for a while I thought Limp Bizkit's one was the superior song of the two.
Just how long that while was, I don't feel like disclosing.

This isn’t a confession, more just a statement of fact.
I really enjoy the music of Enya.

Once during a Neil Cassel set I laughed out loud when Balldog let out a massive fart, I was then told off by a man in a Bruce Springsteen t-shirt and shorts. I remember thinking what a loser this bloke was, Springsteen & shorts.
Fast forward 15 years I'm a Springsteen fan that doesn't hesitate to wear shorts to gigs.
+ Neil Cassel is dead.

My favourite Oasis memory is still Rollinice sending me stop crying your heart out over MIRC. Sent shivers down my spine when Liam started singing.
My very first MP3 I ever downloaded was Noel singing you've got to hide your love away. It took almost 2 hours ti download because people kept logging off Napster. My second was Minority by Green Day.
My first ever MP3's I got was a CD of REM's back catalogue from a computer fair. Like 10 albums on one CDR for £5, it blew my mind.
I once passed out to Little by Little by Oasis, Brighton Centre, December 2002. The security thought I was on drugs, but the truth was I thought I was cool wearing a parker in Brighton. I wasn't cool, I was a twat in a parker that passed out to little by little.
I once got really annoyed & called JP a fake who was just trying to look cool for liking Trout Mask Replica.

Eddie Murphy got me into the Smiths, Masterplan chat room circa 2000.
I thought Turns into Stone was the second Stone Roses album for ages, I think Eddie Murphy corrected me on this too.
Me & Murphs, 21 years of noise and confusion.

Once at a Charlatans gig in Sheffield I had a really terrible cold. The venue was half empty before the support slot. I had a huge lump of snot in my throat & uncharacteristically decided to empty my throat. Somehow I didn't aim down properly & it took off and landed on the back of a girls cardigan in front of me. She didn't notice, I turned around and walked swiftly to the toilet. I've never been more disgusted with myself in my life.
Not only did some cockney gob on her, the support band were The Feeling. Still feel awful to this day.

I spent way too much time in my golden years downloading Oasis bootlegs on MIRC. I'd tell my mates I was sick or busy but I'd be glued to my computer downloading. Horrible how many good nights I missed at that shit.
I use to actually rip the bootlegs on CDs and for a while I was printing off the fan atwork etc.. what a waste of time and fucking printer ink.
